I don't think this is the problem, I think the ro.usb....string items need to come from build.prop but they're often not present and I don't think it would cause a problem.

But the above lines were from this dmesg:

I think that after the first line:
<6>[ 13.716314@0] usbcore: registered new interface driver xpad
I should see something similar to this:
    [ 8904.332308] usb 1-1.3: New USB device found, idVendor=045e, idProduct=x[ 8904.332347] usb 1-1.3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
    [ 8904.332368] usb 1-1.3: Product: XBOX Controller
    [ 8904.332386] usb 1-1.3: Manufacturer: Microsoft
    [ 8904.332403] usb 1-1.3: SerialNumber: ...

And because it's not there, I do think there's a problem with the driver.
That why when I start usbjoygold, it notices the usb connection with the xbox controller, but I can't select it afterwards to set it up.

No one here to help me? Has anyone got a original wired xbox 360 controller working on a s89-H?

    Wim
    EDIT: from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/111 :
dmesg | grep xpad returns [ 3.941620] usbcore: registered new interface driver xpad
but no device name has been given indicating the controller is not fully installed.

This thread points to more people having this problem and this driver "xboxdrv" should help:

How do I install this zip?

I'm currently trying to get my wired xbox 360 controller working with a Venz K1 S805 (http://freaktab.com/forum/advertiser...d-biss-support)

I thought I would try some of the modules people have been distributing here so I downloaded and installed s82_s89_xbox_ps3_install.zip (first post)

It created all the files where they should be but my device didn't have an init.d folder and so the modules aren't installed on boot.

I'm now trying to install the modules manually

After running su and remounting the system volume to put it in rw mode, the following command worked successfully:

          insmod /system/lib/gameport.ko

          But then this command failed:

insmod /system/lib/xpad.ko [No such file or directory]

The file is there though so I'm guessing that xpad.ko is trying to run a file that is missing.

This is similar to the issue that Arbelzapf was having in post #60 (http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...284#post290284)

His ffmemless was missing. I don't have ffmemless either. So I tried downloading two copies:

One from the first link (neo_x8_stock_xbox_ps3_install.zip) (ffmemless.ko) and another from xpad_modules_for_x8h.zip (ff-memless.ko)

When I run insmod /system/lib/ffmemless.ko or insmod /system/lib/ff-memless.ko

In both cases I get the error [Exec format error]

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of ffmemless from which will work on the Venz K1 S805? The kernal is: KOT49H.20150401

          Thanks!

            @Finless
Do you think its possible to make a separate CSR Bluetooth Dongle Driver for use on the 1G Units?
Enough to use say a DS3 or a X360 Pad? If you could also grant AD2P as well that would BE FANTASTIC!

Please help, trying to get wireless xbox controller to work with my new mxiii-g box (s812) its running android 5.1.1 build 102L1 its rooted from factory but dont think it has init.d support as there is no initd folder in system, wireless xbox controller works in a fashion but is messed up, left analogue stick works on launcher but not in games, left dpad brings up power off/ suspend menu etc, have looked in system/lib folder and it already contains xpad.ko gameport.ko. lsmod does not show either and insmod freezes the box, had to pull the power.

Fixed it I flashed the stock version for some reason the init.d script didn't flash so I added it manually set permissions then executed it with rom toolbox and the control pad worked straight away.

The 64 bit modules for the s905 are located here if you want to expand on the installer.
