Downgrading from 105k4 to 104k4 hangs me on Tronsmart Logo Screen !!!

You are defo rooted regarding the xbmc issue ?

Also have you tried using fusion and addon installer and using XBMCHUB tool to clear your cache and apply Advanced XML for playback issues.

Also when it finishes with the update when your flashing the update, did you try taking out the SD card before it restarts?

And from my personal experience, on 105k4 , the xbmc version i got most stability was

But with 104k4 im using oman 13.1 for best stability.

Dont install over version of xbmc , i use root uninstaller to remove xbmc then install new version every time to avoid any messed up files from previous installs.

I am 200% rooted as this happens with finless 1.7 which is a rooted rom .. Also i tried removing the sd card but same result..

Why dont you install 105k4 with xbmc 13.1 and let us know if it works !!!

Try flashing 102k4 and see if it boots. Then upgrade to 104k4. See if that helps.

how long did you wait at the tronsmart logo? my downgrade sat on that screen for appox 7 mins!

mine came stock with 104k4, I updated to finless 1.7, and couldn't back flash with bob' s 'reboot app' or the included updater app either, only the toothpick method worked, the sd must be blank and the 3 files in root directory.... but that's not your issue as rom has installed with no errors..

12 hours Flashing with 104k4 was ok with older batch of boxes. Latest batch is not ok !!!!

Try flashing 102k4 and see if it boots. Then upgrade to 104k4. See if that helps.

Tried that Bob but same thing unfortunately !!!

I believe that from now on more and more people will face this issue as this only happens with the latest batch of S89 boxes ...

Is there someone who can give us official support ? Eric from Geekbuying is the guy to talk to??

I think this is a major issue and should be addressed by them asap !!!

So..... If I had to guess what the problem is, it is early boxes with AML processor!
As some may have heard the earlier processors "may" have had a thermal problem or difference.
This was kind of leaked then taken back with AML saying NO SUCH ISSUE.
In fact there is a difference and you can see it by looking at dmesg logs on early proc vs new ones.
So AML did rev the processors.

So it's possible older kernel will no longer boot on the new processors! AND there maybe nothing that can be done about it.

I will make a 104K4 ZIP update that flashed the bootloader. If it works great. If it doesn't, well nothing to do about it!

Actually, my 1.6 ROM was made from the 104k4.

If this wont boot then no sense in me wasting my time making a stock 104k4 ZIP update.

I get your point, but how come the 102k4,103k4 flash and work just fine, which are older roms and 104 does not ??

I am really very dissappointed with all of these ... I sent an email to tronsmart support and Eric from Geekbuying as well, and i am waiting to see what they have to suggest ...

I already tried finless 1.6 and that is also not working ... But if you could make a 104k4 in zip format that would be my last resort and i wish you could do that for me ...

I am trying so hard to find a reasonable explanation for all of these but i cant seem to find one .. Unless the factory tell us what has changed or maybe release a 106k4 which solves all previous problems i guess we are stuck with older firmware which is not good for their customers,including my self .....

Trust me, if 1.6 wont boot a flashable zip of 104K4 wont either.

Only way to find out what is going on is to hook up a terminal and look the boot process.

FYI, 104K4 was never officially released by Beelink. It was up for ONE DAY and they pulled it. Probably because of this issue. Maybe ask Oman what is going on.

That was their best performer and they only released it for one day ??? Too bad for them ...

I have no problem running 105k4 but that is not compatible with 13.1 stable XBMC and OMAN's XBMC is not working with Simple Tv Pvr Add-On !!!

So to conclude, they forced us in a dead end here !!! They really need to find a workaround for this and do it as soon as possible ....

Cause i thought to have a working firmware on the box and upon flashing 104k4 to uncheck erase bootloader. Is there a chance this would work ???

This is a 105k4 issue ... Same XBMC version with exact same setup works fine on :

- 100k4
- 101k4
- 102k4
- 103k4
- 104k4
- Finless 1.6

All except 105k4 !!!!!!!

And we cannot go back to 104k4 anymore !!! This is getting frustrating i spent 3 days of my life trying to find a workaround here but nothing so far !!!
