There is still some problems with Titanium Backup/Restore. I reported earlier that it was fixed, but it only worked one time, and quit working again...for some reason. I'm still working on that problem.
I will be testing this ROM further to check on things that I do...but I encourage users to report their results.
This ROM is:
Rooted with SuperSU
Debloated of all Chinese apps
Google Play Store fixes added
Init.d support added
Busybox commands added
Your choice of stock recovery or CWM Recovery...just select the recovery file in the flash tool before flashing
Autoinstall added for apk files in your external SD "autoinstall" folder (not tested yet)
Reboot app by Petrus
CWM created with MTK Multi Tool
New boot animation and shut animation
USB drivers included in the ROM kit
Edit: This is now v1.2.1
I've added some choices in the size of space for apps...user app space. You can pick from the default 2gb (pretty small), or 4, 6 or 8gb.
This procedure isn't covered in the First Time User's Guide, so read here for instructions for flashing.
Of coarse, you need to get the USB drivers installed if this is the first time you are flashing this tablet. Don't worry about rooting the tablet first...that was old thinking...not required.
1. Unzip the ROM kit somewhere on your hard drive. I like to put it on the desktop. Familiarize yourself with the files located in the RileyROM folder.
2. Launch the flash tool, and direct it to the scatter file in the RileyROM folder. There are pictures in the First Time User's Guide.
3. Leave the flash tool in download only mode
4. Go down the list of items to be flashed...most will already be checked.
5. Choose the EBR1 file of the size you want the user app space to be. It will be EBR_XXXX...the number in MB for your user app space size.
6. Choose the EBR2 file of the same size you picked for the EBR1. It's important that these two files match.
7. Choose which recovery.img you want to flash. Either recovery_stock.img or recovery_cwm.img.
8. Turn the tablet off and leave it disconnected. Be sure it's fully charged before you start.
9. Click the download button on the flash tool.
10. With the tablet turned off, plug in the USB cable.
11. The tablet will flash.
12. When it's done, detach the USB from the tablet.
13. Hold down the volume + button and press and hold power until the tablet comes on.
14. You will be in recovery. Either CWM or Stock...it doesn't matter...except the buttons will behave a little differently.
15. Scroll down (with stock recovery, scroll with the vol- button and confirm with the vol+ button...with CWM, scroll with both volume buttons, and confirm with the power button) the recovery menu and pick wipe data/cache...and confirm. This will erase your apps and data...so a backup is in order. I've had pretty good luck with using the backup/restore app supplied on the tablet from FNF, it doesn't do well with paid apps, though. You must do this for the new user app space to be formatted...otherwise, the tablet won't boot.
16. Reboot to system.
17. The tablet will take a while to boot the first time, so be patient.
18. Once the tablet boots the first time, you can restore all of your apps.
