the very slightly different thing with my cwm recovery bootloop - is that just before entering cwm I see a Google TV logo, that is 1/4 of the screen.

Contact the seller and try to get the factory firmware. In the meantime, can you upload your cwm backup to a file server? I can download it and try to make you an image to recover your stick.

If you do decide to upload it, ensure there are no personal or sensitive files contained in the backup before doing so.

          the backup folder?

give me an email and I'll send you a wetransfer.

but - how come a nandroid restore - incl boot - would not work...

sadly this store is not the kind to have firmware... they'd rather have it returned and tossed. I have 5! sticks before i got one w no issues. until now...

The reason you had a cwm bootloop is because cwm was flashed to your boot partition instead of the recovery partition. This happens when cwm is not installed properly, and is pretty common. That's why your backups fail.

Must be a stick/tab-only issue... never seen it on any of my 7 android phones...

                it was an update.zip install...

oh and folder is 95% up - ignore the personals...

BUT - IF you'd succeed in making a flashable rom that'd work from this - can you find out details on what else may or may not work? or if I don't have linux - would it be a really bad thing to try flashing again?

                *edit* PM-ed!

I figured; update.zip installs are exactly how that happens...
