NEW - Finless 1.8 for EM8 Square Box

Anyone getting worse video quality? I'm noticing some grain/noise on HD video footage which were not present in stock rom I think. Anyone?

Hi thanks for such rom.. It works like a charm
Here some questions..
The remote control has miss alignment key (home =volume), do you know where is located the mapping of the remote control?
Also is there any program that allow to access directly to the Android settings?
Idem to see task manager... Right now I am using recent application to perform such task
I am using mx player to watch streaming local video from my synology... Does exist a better player for streaming
Last point does exist a better file manager with network access...

By The way really good rom.. I remove xbmc by kordi and use some other tweak to manage memory..
Once more time thanks for the rom.. Could you in future integrate French language too

I just install the rom for my box m8 using option 2 from read me first and then I finish doing the update, 1080p image stayed fixed on TV and does not respond to anything, as I can fix this?

I've got the same problem, any solution?

I went into recovery without the SD card in, did wipe data/factory reset, still no go. Even tried update from EXT then pointed it to the zip file. Installs fine but just boots to the pretty 1080p screen and stays there forever

I tried other roms, they all boot perfectly (i.e. ENY from Stane). Primary reason I want to try Finless is because I'm having a weird HDMI audio issue. The sound works when selecting the menu items but whenever I try and play a video (i.e. in popcorn time app) I get no sound

Any idea on how to fix the boot problem?

M8 Won't go past spinning logo

Can anyone help?

I have just been through the whole thread and can't see a solution yet!

My box was flashed with JM 1.5 and was working fine but when I flash Finless it gets stuck on the spinning logo and won't go any further. I can re flash to another ROM without issue, I'm now on codesnake OpenElec and that works great!

I used method #1 and method #3 same issue both times.

press the reset button in the port to get in to flashing mode , then do a factory rest . May due to residual files from the stock rom .

I fix my M8 issues following these steps...

1. Download the firmware and extract it, I use the ENY Em8 ap6330 8g2g 20141208.zip
2. Copy the files (factory update param.aml, k200-ota-20141208.zip, and recovery.img) to the root of an SD card formatted with FAT32
3. Insert the SD card in your S802 device. My OTT TV Box M8.
4. Using a sharp non-conductive object to press the recovery button, In M8 (aka TM8), this is located in the AV connector, and I used a toothpick to press the button. Keep pressing, and connect the power, waiting for an animated Android with a progress bar showing firmware upgrade is in progress.
5. The box will then automatically reboot, and start with the new firmware. You’ll then go through a wizard to select your language (simplified Chinese, UK English, or traditional Chinese), adjust the screen size, and configure the network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)

This method might also work with any Amlogic S802 based device. However, even though Tronsmart Vega S89 hardware also features the same type of recovery button via the AV output. Thanks!!!

I tried every possible method to install Finless's rom but nothing works. Maybe a change in the latest stock rom prevents it. It looks for a file signature.

so in that screen , try removing the sd card and popping it back in then try going to ext sd card and flashing . mine doesnt read it till i remove the card and place it back in . also the sd card needs to be upside down thats pins facing up. good luck
