KODI with passthrough (for devices with a modified libmedia.so)

I have compiled a Kodi-Helix from the master branch with DD5.1 / DTS passthrough. All working fine on my X5 with Wasser 1.04.

This version is based on Kodi Helix 14.0 beta 1.

I'll give it a try.... I'm guessing that not many add-ons are compatible yet?
When compiling did you notice if koyings fixes are in the source? Sorta hoping his hard work is included....

I have used the xbmc master branch. So all commits from Koying in that branch are there. The only change I made was to enable passthrough (credits tot stafstrom and jmcm).

So far all is stable.

Everything works excellent on Wasser's KK 1.0.4: passthrough, 1080 playback, addons.

I spent a hour or so playing last night and the only add-on I couldn't get working was sportdevil but I know some add-ons can be down so I'll try again later.

I didn't test passthough as I had to move my x7 to the tv in my room (no 5.1 surround system). Obviously I had to disable passthrough in the system settings to get sound but apart from that everything was stable.

TBH I think the picture is slightly brighter than in other xbmc builds which is nice, and also looks more sharp without messing with tv settings.

No more sound

Have installed on Wasser 1.04 on x7.
After watching a movie with DTS 5.1 and return back to main screen, I have no more sound at all.
Have to restart whole the system again.
Please advice

I am not a big XBMC user, though i am increasingly becoming curious about it. I wanna use it mostly for my Football (soccer ) addiction but still, i didnt have the time to learn all of that.

BUT...

this XBMC has been the, fastest loading one, fastest reacting one, and all vids play flawless...

Not really, but coincidentally I have compiled a new KODI from yesterdays masterbranch with a passthrough fix.

I installed it as an update and it doesn't work as well as the previous version. This time I have no real sound, but some kind of a roar. It seems a lion just climbed inside my TV. Image is also playing in very, very slow motion.

For the moment, I'm back to the old version. It just installed over the new one without problems. I'll recheck the downloaded file first, maybe it was something wrong with it, since i noticed it was smaller than the old one. I'll make a fresh install with the new version as soon as I'll get some free time.

Edit:

Downloaded file was OK, so I'll just have to try a fresh install and see what will happen.
If you have any idea why this slow motion + sound roar happened please advise me what to do next.

Edit 2:

I made a clean install and the roaring and slow motion where gone, but I had problems with some add ons, so the first version works best for me.

Edit 3:

Reflashed Wasser 1.0.4 and the second Kodi-Helix with passthrough version and now all works smooth.

Great job Karel. Your Kodi is fast and smooth. If you have some preset popular repos like Beyond xbmc that will be wonderful.
