With xbmc transcoding enabled reciever says dolby but there is sound only 0.1 seconds every 1 second played (second version in the video.

Notice surround system should only say dolby a few seconds.
First SPMC hdmi arc.
Second XBMC hdmi arc.
Third XBMC connected with optical.

the extremely hot cpu 100% has only happened once, the day after I recieved my R89

Would you be able to make this patch for the Tronsmart R28 Meta? I have heard the HW is very similar but not sure if they share the same kernel etc. The same problem exists on the R28s. I could test on mine. Thanks.

"... HW is very similar ..." yes it's the same pcb (motherboard)... so you can use the same FW...
I'm not sure, but I think you need 109k4 to "patch" it with this update (it's a kernel replacement)...
Generally, if I'm not wrong, oman develop at minimum for Tronsmart also the kernel ...

I tried out the patch on my R28 last night on top of 109k4 but it didn't work.

It also caused XBMC to just bomb out when playing some videos.

I wasn't necessarily expecting it to work but it was worth a shot.

I also have Dolby D coming through HDMI now on the test file with the stock player. On XBMC, I just get stereo.

The stock player now also passes through DTS and Dolby D on other files I have.

To my knowledge, yes the 109k4 is the latest and no patches.

I am new, considerting RK3288 based device,

Do these devices capable of decoding 3D blu ray movies as well?

I read this complete thread of 11 pages, but no one reviewed this aspect of playback?
i know that any media player can play Side by Side, but not frame packing, does this one support it?
Can any one check that?

I have 3D tv, but don't want to go for investing into one more 3D blu ray player separately..
