Hi,

I can confirm that there are 2 PCBs of ENY EM8 (official ones). Rest of them are clones. As I was told, firmware for old PCB is not compatible with new one and vice versa.

More details on kernel and uboot changes I will receive next week and will post updated firmware(s).

The Pcb I and %99 of the M8 users have M8 V0.92 Samsung Ram chips and as far as I know v0.91 was an engineering sample never been sold.

We are also aware of the Clones...

FW is Great on V0.92 board if We keep box On all the time ...

Problem is Box freezes after Wake from Standby , how is your box behaves ?

My box works normal. I never bought EM8, it was sample box. Anyway, next week I will have more (direct) info.

Thanks Stane. The off/standby issue I mentioned in all 6 Android ROMs I tested last week that excited a couple here was that of box switching itself on again. Not the Lock_after_wake bug Trebor discovered. Reading around the web about off/standby issue, it seems a problem with PCB firmware and waste of time.

As with main problem of M8 freezes due to bad parallel task management I wish you luck. Because the root cause of memory management is a notorious black hole in Android. It's a herculean task specially on these dodgy M8 boxes. If anyone can save Android for these it's your skills and perfectionism as the last hope. I'm sure many are waiting and hoping.

I installed it yesterday and so far it works for me. I streamed from genesis & navi-x. I am a newbie though so not sure what other issues others have found that is important for them. I only stream and have only watched 2 tv related episodes in " HD "

It has surprised me how many different experiences so many people have even though its the "same box".

Almost seems like if what you currently have does not work, then try a new one... once its works for your needs keep it and enjoy it.

Did not check in depth (addon), but seems it works only on minix because it reads strings from build.prop and if it's not minix x8 will do nothing. Thats easy to fix.

Stane, Just installed this version and all is running well. I noticed that the Ethernet mac address has changed (From the one printed on the label under the unit), but it does remain constant through a cold boot (on other firmware versions (until k200-ota-20140722) I had the problem of random mac address on each cold boot).

I have left the family watching a blu-ray iso streaming on xbmc, so this should be a good stability test.

Would it be possible to add multitouch screen support to this version? I have a HannsG HT231 touch screen monitor and would love to use it with the M8.

Hardly... Needs kernel support + android support. Since I do not own this monitor....

FW is installed using reset button. Put firmware files on sdcard, unplug box, press reset button which is in AV hole and plug the power in. Wait cpl seconds and release reset button.
