How many recieved RMA replacements S89 for thier faulty S89 devices?

As most of us are aware of the S89 have a HDMI issue and many stopped working shortly after people received them.

So how many decied to RMA the device and actually got a working replacement?

If what iam reading is correct most seemed to have just been ripped off or received no working replacement.

    Whats your experience?

I had a faulty hdmi, received a new one straight away after sending mine back, local Dutch supplier, not geek buying or dealextreme

I also had problems with a box that died shortly after receiving it.

Aside from some minor frustration associated with less than perfect English skills, I found Geekbuying customer support to be as responsive and polite as I could ask for.

They replaced my s89 without issue after being satisfied by testing that the box was really at fault. I know it can be very aggravating to receive a faulty product and then to be further annoyed when the customer service rep wants to make you 'jump through silly hoops.'

This is not to evade responsibility, but to verify for themselves that it really IS the item at fault, and not a faulty operator
This is understandable when you consider that one returned item can wipe out profit from many sales when the margins are thin.

If you do the tests they ask and report back without getting angry in tone or abusive things will go smoothly.

FWIW, after my positive experience with Geekbuying I will always look to them first in future when considering buying from the 'Chinese market.'

i am waiting already 5 months to recieve a working s89 elite box ,but each time something else happen.
first i recieved a box that always stuck and overheating so i returned it and recieved one with faulty hdmi so i immediatly return it and i am waiting now to recieve a working one. and it takes so long untill i shipped it to them(singapore geekbuying), untill they process the box(sometime it takes them more than a week) and untill i recieve it back.

except the previous i ordered aother one and recieved it yesteraday and guess what? sound not working through a/v output(not hdmi - i have old tvs). in hdmi it working and i don't want to send it back beacuse it takes so long.

i just want to say that i know there are boxes that works perfectly, but i recieve broken ones.

Unfortunately for most smooth is not quite the word they would they would use.

There just seems to be way too many horror stories compared to the happy ones.

Regradless of how polite a person is trying to get a working device.

Get your money back and purchase the Minix version, it is the exact same box but built better, including a small cooling fan as well as other improvements.

I purchased 2 X S89 from Geekbuying the first is working ok but might be developing a fault (I need to track down if it's a software issue) the second one had the HDMI fail with in 2 weeks, but it was repaired locally by getting the solder for that connector reflowed.

yes, my next box will be probably the minix x8(geekbuying not returning money-just replacements)
The funny thing is that they didn't send me the newest box(they send me the 2.0 version and not the 2.2)
and it was wrapped with dhl package and in it with air mail package - seems that they send me a repaired one and not a new one(i mean for the new box that i ordered and not for the broken one that i send back).

i had the hdmi problem but i had it fixed locally, costed me $5 . the rest works fine as far as i tested including audio from A/V port.

My advice is if everything is working fine in your device but you suddenly get no hdmi output, then have it repaired locally. Will cost you less money, less wasted/waiting time and less/non headaches.

And you probably get free samples from them or are affiliated with them in some way. No one would ever say these things otherwise! !

Be nice people this is not a attack each other thread.

The truth is some people do have a good experience.
They get sent a device and it works as advertised.

The other truth is that many do not have a good experience.
Get a broken device or not what they ordered and dealing with geekbuying turns out to be a circus.

I don't for a sec believe all the rma are new and iam sure they are tossing in whatever comes back to them to keep up with orders.

Also that they test all the untis before shipping is a totaly load of BS since the sheer number of failures would never get through if they did.

If your lucky to get a replacement after much song and dance in many cases its more then likely a repaired unit as new ones go to money making new buyers.

Getting it fixed locally is a much better bet and certainly cheaper in time/money.
Not to mentioned dealing with the BS involved in the whole Rma is just going to drive people nuts.

PS: Also keep in mind that for a few areas there are local offices your dealing with rather then having it rma to China.
Quite often those local places are far quicker and don't involve the nonsense of dealing with geekbuying.

Not at all. Just a satisfied customer who doesnt like seeing somebody who did me right getting their name smashed and smeared unfairly across multiple threads in this forum.
I only seek to bring balance to the "discussion."

People will read this and because of doubts put in their head they might go buy from some unknown fly-by-night Chinese vendor who doesnt care about building a brand and get no support when they strike a problem.

People will read this and go buy from some unknown fly-by-night Chinese vendor because they had doubts put in their head here, but then thats the goal, isnt it? I see that as unfair and I only seek to bring balance to the "discussion."
Your going to have to except a realty here that your one of the lucky ones.

Many others have not been so lucky and they deserve to be heard as much as you and if you can't deal with that you don't have to post.

We are talking about a site that's posted fake reviews and jerked around customers.

Feel free to read some of the comments https://www.facebook.com/Geekbuyingfans .

Thier own facebook site of all places.

There much more pissed off people they any vendor should have and way too much deceit and BS involved in just getting what you paid for at times.

If people were making this up that would be a different case but its painfully clear thats not whats going on.

I happy for the lucky ones who go what they paid for but the ones who haven't have ever right to be heard.
Also people should be warned about what they are getting into and risk by ordering from them.

As for geekbuying all they need to do is correct the failings and everyone shall be posting good about them.. very simple math that is.

You may have noticed they are not really commenting as of late since its really hard to explain things like fake reviews, rma nightmares, wrong items sent or just plain nothing shipped.
