How many recieved RMA replacements S89 for thier faulty S89 devices?

Another thing you see with electronic divices witch run on lets say android .They never update it sometimes like here they will try to fix some bugs.The rather make another model after a few months .And leave the old model as it is .I saw it with zopo cellphones .And i see the same here with the amlogic tv boxes

.In in case of tronsmart beelink and other s82 .I get the idea that oman does the work for tronsmart and a few others .if he wasnt doing this with few others like finless it would be hopeless .What you will see the next few months less and less updates for the s89.s82 stuff .Why other models same problems .No time for lder models .So guys and girls who think to see lollypop (android 5.0) on their tronsmart beelink .I think you can forget that .All they want is for you to buy another one .Instaid of fixing the old one

But the one whois responsible is not geekbuying but first of all the soc maker for not updating theis drivers to make them more stable and update to another android version (amlogic in this case ) than the manufactory for making defective stuff .And Last geebuying for selling them even when they know they have bugs and factory faults .

If this would have happned in europe ore us ore canada they would have big ads in newspapers to return the stuff .We see it with cars food sector stuff here in Europe even after years of beeing manufactored

That's not quite true we had ten updates to the box which in its time is quite good and it hasn't stopped yet.
The box is at the point where the remaining bugs are not easy ones so the update takes longer.

Also unfortunately this does happen over here a perfect example is boxee box which betrayed thier user base three times and put out way less updates.

In the end geekbuying is responsible since they are they seller and they have the power to force updates or higher someone to make sure they come out.

The problem is geekbuying in it just for the money and they could care less if the device is updated.

Don't make the mistake of going after the hardware manufacture like some did with dlink (boxee box) which are merely contracted to make the hardware and not to do software.

Getting rid of bugs are updates just as with any os be it windows, apple or android.
Getting the latest and greatest android is nice but it always comes with new bugs and frankly i much rather a stable fully working device then new software toys.

One rom for all wasn't the intention i think but since the amilogic boxes are nearly identical and we benefited from this.It also makes support simpler across the board for the sellers since modders can find fixes faster.

What future updates to the rom itself may come is anyomes guess but i seriously doubt its dead since even the older mk804vIII type devices are still getting rom upgrades.

Yes all are certainly in it for the money but companies like geekbuying are run by fools.
You want to become the dominate player in the business you make a device a order of magnitude better then whats out there.
Then you support the crap out of your device and you get a super loyal user base..jobs understood this with apple.

Well, the major problem is the mentality and origin (third world) of these "Company leaders"
You can't compare "companies" like Geekbuying with "Western standard" companies.
GB is running by SE Asians!
Asians (Chinese in this case) generally tend to look only five minutes into the future.
After-sales service is mostly not existent, same goes for spare parts and often consumables.
They want the quick money and not a satisfied, returning long-time customer, who probably needs additional time and attention!
You will will notice that almost everywhere in SE Asia. (But not Singapore)
Add no maintenance in any way, be it their car, house, roads and so on. The list is endless.
They dump their rubbish where they stand and go. (I can watch it every day)
They tell you the biggest, brazen lies with a smiling, just to "keep face".
A very good example for their attitude, is their horrific behaviour in the traffic.
They just don't care a shit.

So what can you expect?

Lol we have the eu council whahaha .they even vote how bent a banana must be..lol the poor bastards only get 6200 euros tax free every month.300 euro pro meeting 800 euros for traveling from brussels to strasbourg 4500 declaration for lens paper and so on .21000 pro person for personel all every month .oh and dont forget the mercedes and chauffeur ..oh and on thursday 1200 weekend couse they have to goto their own country back .poor guys .i think apox 700 of thes basterts .

however, if we all would have bought our devices from local vendors inside the EU, this thread wouldn't even exist...
I personally, had never any problems in a case of warranty.
But 3rd world China is not EU, so better avoid them and buy locally (if somehow possible)

Treu. If it wasnt that a dutch vendor asked 169 euro for the s89-h instaid of the 90 eur i payed .thats why i took the risk .mine works ok only lot of bugs .sometimes no sound .restart .sometimes black screen .restart ok .lol sometimes pink screen restart ok.things i got with 109k4 some i got with 108k4 allready

All I know is that as a measure of compensation for the hassles from the 2 boxes I purchased from them I was supposed to be receiving a pair of air mouses, ................ 2.5 months later Still waiting

You have a "bridge" somewhere.
This happened to me also with another TV box, where the HDMI port was re-soldered too.
Was only visible under a microscope.
But after removing the bridge, the box booted like before.

Everyone,

I just received my replacement S89 in the mail last night. I opened it this morning. It was well packaged with plenty of protective bubble wrap.

Upon inspection, it appears to be a brand new unit. It even has the plastic shrink wrap around it.

I will remove shrink wrap and inspect it further before setting it up this afternoon. I will report my findings.
