Thanks, it's good to know it's possible and I'm not only one having trouble getting it working. I think I'll try the SD card method like you suggested, that way I can keep my stick working with another rom until I can hopefully get this one working. Did you edit the parameter file or just try different parameter files from other roms?

I got my MK908II working by flashing the following:

1. loader :RK3188Loader(L)_V2.08.bin file from finless kitkat ROM
2. kernel: kernel_KK_v4.2.5_TVSTICK_AP6210_HD.img from d33
3. all other files from this pureX_KitKat_V1-1_cx921a - "look inside" folder.

So far so good. All working so far. Feels very snappy. I will observe more.

My antutu is 24515, not bad I guess for 1080.

This ROM really rocks. I like the xbmc. Video streaming is really fast. Games were very fast. Definitely better than any other ROM I've tried.

One question though. Is there a way to have the RK Remote Control app work with this Kitkat ROM? I use the remote control for games that do not recognize mouse clicks like ZumbaDance.

I use rkremote 2.0.3. I have placed the apk on my dropbox for anyone. It works very well on purex. I use it every day

8gb parameter

I have a CX-921 where on the motherboard it has written CX-921 ver 1.2 and 2gb of RAM, 8GB of Flash on a sticker.

When I load your file it would only take the 4gb parameter and fails on the 8gb parameter.

After it it's loaded I get no sound but everything else works beautifully, I set it to passthrough but still get no sound.

I must say that in my box too the 8gb parameter file gives an error while flashing.
The 4gb parameter works fine but i have only 4gb of storage instead of 8gb.
Can we do something for this issue ??

well i am using the guide from vondroid ...i have connected my CX-919 and fired up Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7..The device is recognized...(pink)...i go to the purexbmc folder...(i have also the kernel image)...well...it all stops here...
Whatever .img i select i get the message "Load firmware failed"...and everythig stops just here....any idea...i also have no idea how to use the RKAndroid....it seems it selects everything...is this correct?

Thanks, but the RKRemote app 2.0.3 in your link still do not work. I used a higher version 2.0.4.

I think that this has to do with ehomemedia not available in Kitkat ROMs.

I will try to experiment more later. I will try to extract the system app (ehomemedia, media server etc.) from 4.2 jb ROM and put to kitkat ROM as system app. I will do this later when I have free time.

As i wrote, the 4GB file is for devices with 8GB Ram and the 8GB file is for devices with more ram. You can grab a 6GB parameter file for your 8GB device from anywhere else. I thought i included it in the last version?

I got this rom working (thanks to Walter77 and tantrums). It's great but I'm having one issue. Every now and then it will seemingly go dead after boot. I get the splash screen and then as it's finished booting it goes dead. It doesn't do it each time. I've different power adapters and cables but still does it. Tried different TV's too. It seems quite random, like it will boot first time a few times and then it'll take two or three attempts to get it to boot. Once it has booked ok it's fine, it doesn't cut out.

Any ideas? I followed Tantrums installation instructions as I'm using a MK908 II (not clone).

Don't start yelling at me I'm noob when it comes to Chinese android sticks maybe someone can help me . I have a CozySwan S400 I bought it in the summer 2003 and a few months later I've put neomode 1.7 rom(720p no 1080p at that time)..didn't touch the rom since then, just playing 720p videos - without any issue. I'm looking for an upgrade to have proper 1080p and also eliminate the 90 degrees screen on start(when it starts it shows things 90 degrees to the right for a couple of seconds :P)

Can I flash this rom? if yes how? ..yes I really don't remember the procedure, here's what I know about my stick(I have written them down the one time I've opened the stick):
