    Hello,

I tried several times, only 5 apps were loaded, no basic browser and it would not connect my accountt to Google. I tried several times. Going back to 1.8

Were you running the wifi or 3G version?

I am having the same issue. I loaded 1.9 wifi and the only apps available are BusyBox, Explorer, Reboot, Settings and Superuser. No PlayStore or any other apps.

OK, that's what I was wanting to know.

Just flash the 3G ROM. It will contain everything you need. I will work more on the wifi ROM and test it Sunday. The reason Play Store isn't working is because Telephony.apk isn't there...but I did not remove it from the 3G ROM.

There is only one firmware...I just made the wifi version as an experiment to see how much I could strip out and maximize battery consumption.

Sorry, I had some family priorities to take care of today ....I hoped to be able to test it myself...but I knew you guys would want something to play with.

Thank you I used the WiFi one. 1.8 works great. I'll wait till you setup a new WiFi one. Thank you.

I loaded TWRP from the 1.8 ROM and installed google apps to get the PlayStore installed. I wanted to see if they fixed the game play issue but it is still present. I used Mickey's Castle of Illusion for my test and it is still doing the same thing as always. I hear the sound and I can tell from the sound that it is responding to my screen touches, but the Mickey character and background images are not displaying.

I also noted that the soft buttons are not present with 1.9. Once you've tweaked it I can do some more testing.

I tried loading the 1.9 3G version and I still only get the 5 apps. No PlayStore or anything else.

OK. I work on this some more.

1.8 is still the ROM of choice right now.

                      Can't install the drivers

I got a brand new Pipo P1-wifi Version recently -my first Android device-, wanted to backup it's data to avoid the bad consequences in case of disaster, didn't know how to do the backup, just registered as a Freaktab member, discovered this thread, got the wifi Version of the downloads which appear on the first page of this thread, followed the instructions there but I'm stuck on page 5 of your RileyRom Flashing Instructions for first time users which reads:
= Launch Device Manager (in Control Panel) on your PC. Next, launch the ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe from the root folder of the ROM Kit(Run as Administrator, if your Windows user account does not have administrator privileges). At the bottom of the ROM_Flash_Tool_137 window, it should now say "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb".=
                      because I couldn't find the ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe file.
I couldn't find it anywhere in the decompressed files.
My Pipo P1 is hooked to a Lenovo 32bit laptop running Windows 7 Professional.
Unable to find the ROM ...137.exe, I tried to install the Win7 32bit driver manually. No success. Windows 7 Pro doesn't allow me to install the driver.
Using 'Driver Max Free Edition' another driver has been installed on this Lenovo laptop: it's called 'OS2MIcro Integrated MS/MSPRO Controller', provided by O2Micro and digitally signed by 'Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher'. With this driver Win7 Pro recognizes the Pipo P1 and let me see and copy the Pipo installed apps, but I can't go deeper, get the firmware or flash it.
May I ask you to help me?
Thank you very much in advance.

Sorry for the confusion in the instructions.

I've recently updated the guide with the correct information.

Notice in the zip file there is only one .exe file in the root folder. That's the Android Tool you need to run to flash the ROM.

Simply download the ROM from post #1. Inside the zip file is a pdf document called First Time User's Guide. All of the instructions are in that document.

In the RileyROM sub folder you will find TWRP_Recovery.img you can flash using the flash tool included in the kit.

In post #1 there is now a link to download TWRP Recovery.

Place the TWRP_PiPo_P1.img in the RileyROM sub folder of the ROM kit and browse to it in the flash tool...as the instructions show.
