Unbrick or fix NAND on the MK808

As long as the power light is on you should have a chance to bring it to life.

I did struggled with it for many hours. I tried Windows 8, Windows XP and many other PCs that I have. Eventually it did talk to one of them. If you really follow carefully with the instructions and with patience you will bring it back to life.

Unbrick or fix NAND on the MK808

I think mine is bricked.. When I connect the mk808b via the otg port to the computer, finless flashing tool detects as mask rom mode. I get the download idb failure when I flash with that. The rkbatchtool doesn't seem to detect anything on 1 computer but shows up on another.. But it's in mask rom mode and i cant reboot to flash mode with that. Sigh anyone has any ideas what else I can try?

Try other pc too, if not, I don't know how bring to life again.
And try to flash with other program too.

OK I think I might be having the issue as most people. I got it into the MaskROM mode. But when I try to Erase NAND (IDB) I get an Error erasing IDB

I have 2 mk808b and one of them doesn't boot and display no blue led.. it was flash with finless 1.6 sometime back.. so I tried plugging it into the same computer that I had flashed the 808b with.

The flash tool display RKAndroid MaskRom Rock USB. I click reboot to flash mode and it displays
"device can not do flash mode, because it is not MSC device"
I'm wondering flash mode is not necessary? Since I am in maskrom mode already?

So I proceeded to EraseNand (IDB) with no issues.. the issue appeared when I wanted to flash the new finless 2.1 on the mk808b. It has the error on IDB download failed. I have the following logs..

Anyone has any idea how they fixed this? I read that others had luck with another computer but thinking that I had already successfully flashed the older rom on that same system, it should be ok?

I'm afraid not. I'm currently corresponding with Geekbuying about exchanging it since I can't seem to get any help here. I've read around these posts and have seen Finless Bob offer to fix them if you send it to him, so maybe you can send him a private message and see if that still stands if he isn't too busy doing all the awesome stuff he does.

my MK808B (original) went a little crazy when I was flashing a ROM and now refuses to boot. Here are the symptoms:

-Like others, there is no blue light.
-I can only get my Windows 8 PC to recognize it in maskrom after shorting the pins
-Can't perform low level erase of NAND (IDB failed error)
-None of the other options bear fruit either

At this point I am just wondering IF my device even can be unbricked. If anyone has had any experience with these symptoms, did it ever come back to life?

Otracy, any luck on getting this to work? I've tried several cables, different computers using the 8&9 pin Maskrom technique but still getting IDB failed.
