Loaded you new Rom on Bob and I must say it is
Working very well and with 1gb of system storage! I have all programs loaded
On the tablet. I only use the memory card now
To store my hd videos on. Also with this firmware loaded
It is a lot faster than before, no more lag in the system menus, no
More lag on the Android market either. And no more
Messing having to load on the Android market as
It is already there when you flash! Cool.

I love what you have done in the firmware Bob, the
Tablet really flies along now. Finally users can realise
The full potential of there tablet

      Data wipe failed

      Hi,

      I've got:
      Formating DATA:...
      Failed(-2)
      Data wipe failed.

There is Android system recovery utility v 1.3.37 on the top off screen, but buttons don't work.

Did you eraseIDB in the flash tool as instructed?

If you did and you continue to get that error, you could have a bad area of flash Nand. I have seen this reported before with someone else and they had to return the tablet due to the bad flash memory.

I have seen this before with one other person. Bottom line you have a bad NAND flash chip as it cannot format that area and fails. The recovery system cannot handle what are called bad blocks during format.

Sorry to tell you this but you need to send it back. Tell them you try to flash the latest firmware from Arnova and it fails.

After several attempts, the error disappeared.

You most likely have bad NAND and it only malfunctions intermittently.

I have the exact same problem with a 9 G2. I'm retrying it over and over to try and get it to work.

How many times in total have you reflashed your Arnova?

I know you can only flash a finite number of times on any NVRAM, but I have flashed mine more than 5 and have never gotten the error. I guess if we were dealing with 500+ dollar tablets we could complain more to the manufacturer. If your Arnova is new or pretty new and in warranty, you may want to get it replaced. This is only my opinion but I have had a LOT of devices over the years that have non volatile RAM that gets flashed and I have seen failures of this type before when the NVRAM or whatever they call it today is marginal.

When I was over on Arctablet a guy had the same issue and never got past it. He returned the unit and the new one worked fine. Realise my ROM has nothing to do with the recovery system and how it formats! Thats built in to the recovery system.

The Recovery System is intrinsic to the device and the reason why you can unbrick these tablets. That is the hardware of the device. The software that then runs on that hardware is the stock or more optimized ROM's like the ones Finless Bob is sharing with us.

BoB you said to use the flash tool in the new rom, is it the same one discussed on the other forum for the rockchip or do I use that one? Which item in the new version is the flash tool, I have not unzipped it yet? i have been using the 1.1 for about 5 days now and all was fine but now it is starting to get unstable.
