If the size is smaller doesn't the flash tool just pad it out with zeros?

^--- nevermind, I looked at the rkflashtool code and it simply pads out the rest of the partition with 00. Cool. CWM working well with touch too, neat.

p.s. re: keytest you can kil the process with adb shell!

Good to hear you are sorted. I mostly use Linux myself for flashing, it's particularly useful when I just want to update one or more of kernel' boot or recovery images.

Sent here from HUKD, I'd be interested in a Jellybean rom.

          Can anyone help me?

I can't get Windows 8 to recognise the machine. I'm developing for Android and I need the AVD to recognise it so I can test my programs on it. I have USB debugging set up and Windows 8 can recognise the internal storage but it's not recognising it as an Android device.

          TYIA.

Is the tablet set to MTP mode when connected to the PC? And you do have USB debugging on?

I'm out of ideas then lol. I had an issue with adb not working on my win xp notebook after I'd set it to mass storage mode but switching back to mtp mode got it going again.

It seems to be an issue with Windows 8, I'll maybe try transferring my files to my wifes XP notebook.

I've downloaded Google drive and am just sharing the apk's created via that method. Not the ideal solution but it works.

I use esfileexplorer on my tab and can access my NAS and shares using it.

Has anybody tried restoring from a backup using CWM?

I just tried to install 2 of them and the process seemed to complete OK but when I reboot, it always reboots straight back into CWM.

I've switched off and carried out a hard boot too but it always goes straight into CWM.

Check posts 66 and 67, looks as though clockwork recovery works OK.

                            Thanks.

I have tried from external SD card so far, so have restored to factory defaults and will try backing up to internal and external sd to see if there is any difference to the restores.

I have now tried both ways and can only report that for me, restore does not work.
