new imito mk1 from amazon looks like a total fake === how do I check to be sure

I bought what was supposed to be a imito mk1 with 1 gig rom/8 gig nand wifi and bluetooth

It boots up and the boot screen says R BOX I check out storage and it says 504 mb total and 5.82 gig nand ... seller is trying to tell me it is a imito and that there are lots of unbranded units coming from china and dosent seem to hear the it does not have 8 Gig of storage in it ... is there any way to get the processor info ect from it?

That is a shame that lots of the seller are selling the clone/fake imito mx1.

please remember, only geekbuying selling imito mx1 and mk808 is supporing bob's custom rom, and other 1080P roms, other fake ones, don't use the same hardware, the rom flash will brick your device!

    Be Aware!!!!!

they maybe use the same hardware, however, a great mini pc is not just decided by the hardware, the imito factory is a big factory here, they do strong quality check ,and they spend a lot of time in improve the cooling and wifi system, and it should show imito mx1 on the boot up menu, also on the about device settings.

Sorry if i make you feel worried, i also don't want to promote myself, i just so hate the clones/copied, they just care about the profit, price, but they don't know how much effort i have made to make the rom better, and make the factory improve a lot of hardware bugs.

Hope you can talk with the seller to get a good result.

I am still not happy with them and I thought that it would have that information in it somewhere and it did not

No Android device will give you what the spec says for memory. This is because Android itself uses some space as well as user data area. 8gig will be about 5gig once you boot. This is normal!

            Bob

"Прости им, они не ведают, что творят"
"Perdona loro perché non sanno quello che fanno"
"Vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun"
"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"
"Perdónalos porque no saben que lo que hacen"
"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju Å¡to čine"
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"

Got burned by a bogus clone

I as well purchased an iMito MX1 from Amazon and when it started, it started with the "R-Box" as well, pretty sure its a knock off, which ticks me off. I've considered trying a return through Amazon, but I have my speculations that the return process will be difficult, and I may just chock this up to a loss and use it for less taxing purposes.

I will say that my device runs hotter than expected, and also has poor performance compared to some of the benchmarks I've been seeing online.

Short story, BUYER BEWARE! The seller on Amazon I purchased this from was "VALI" and I believe has some real issues which may or may not turn into long term problems, we'll see.

I will say this, Bob's rom pretty much is the only reason my unit runs as well as it does. (I get AnTuTu score of around 7350).

I actually just spoke with someone at Amazon and they've issued me a return label, and will be issuing me a refund. I'll be putting in my order for my iMito MX1 directly from geekbuying, so hopefully this time I'll have better luck with my hardware!

I bought the same product from the same seller !

I contacted amazon and told them about it and they told me I could return the unit, but I decided that if I could get a rebate ftom them I would keep it and do my first attempts at flashing roms ect with it .

I did in fact get a $13 credit and posted a review warning others that the product was not a imito mk1 from what I had found after I recieved it and as soon as I did Vali decided to contact me .He is one of the sellers that when you click contact seller it jusr goes directly to amazon customer service .

We had several emails back and forth and he justifies selling cheap clones on the unit by stating that there and lots of companies in china that make the same product and that they are all the same. The fact that it does not have the imito logo and is loaded with a different rom and says R-BOX on the boot screen means nothing

Yeah well of course they would say something like that to backup their product, but the fact of the matter is, it is a cheap clone and it shows. I don't really care about Vali, I ordered it through Amazon and I was assured I would be refunded my purchase price, which I'm OK with. I've already ordered my MX1 from Geekbuying to replace it, I'll let everyone know how that works out, but until then I'll keep using the knock off unit until my other unit arrives.

Wow, glad i didnt buy a MX1 from amazon, I almost did. Then decided I wanted the MX2 that amazon did not offer at the time so I went with geekbuying. Good luck with the returns.

My stock MX2 on start up has a black screen that says "imito MX Series".

It will be probably exactly the same but the splash logo will be Imito

After flashing the new rom this one does work work better and the full hd is great

I am impressed with the graphics and the wireless speed on this along with bluetooth is nice .

I still ordered a Imito mx1 specifically from this seller and he had a image of a unit with the Imito Mx1 logo on it and was stating that he was offering a Imito Mx1 and had a picture of a branded unit to to convince you that he was selling a brand name product not a generic unit with the same or close to the same capabilities ..... If I buy generic tennis shoes from china and sell them on amazon saying they are NIKE and then tell every one that all the companies in china make shoes with the same soles as the ones Nike sells and who the manufacturer that makes them actually is dosent matter they are all NIKE will you buy them from me at the same price as The ones with the NIKE logo made by the real NIKE company ?

I understand that, it was smart to accept compensation since these days almost everything is made in China just branded to different names. To ship it back wouldn't be worth it.

The point is they are in fact charging you for the brand name not the chipset

the man used a picture of a unit with the imito logo and I found many cheaper units that I passed up because I had read about the quality of the "IMITO" as opposed to unbranded units. And the fact that there are 15 or 20 different companies making them and all claiming they are the "REAL IMITO" tells you that there is in fact some difference somewhere. one company uses capacitors from this seller one from a different seller .... a smaller diode here a cheaper resistor perhaps all these tiny differences make huge impacts on how well it works with the end result being one has poor wifi one has great wifi ,one has no issue with bluetooth one the bluetooth will not even function al all ...

I intentionally choose a known brand name because it was well known for the quality of all the features and this seller used those very points to sell this unit for a higher price than he could expect to get and the expectation of more sales generated by the brand. I spent the money and I got a product with a boot screen with the logo of a different company called R-BOX and there is in fact a company that makes a rockchip 2019 chipset, and I would almost bet this is a unit they make.

If I want a Ford truck I dont expect to buy it from a plymouth dealership and the same applies here if if your using the reputation of the name because of its reputation and charging me for the quality behind that name I expect it to be what you said it was and not have to assemble the engine at home after I get it.

Once I flashed the rom and played with settings for hours It now runs pretty smoothly, but there were issues with blootooth at first and a few minor freezes and other minor snags that seem to have worked out after it was rebooted a few times and apps installed and removed to fine tune it some ....

I intend to buy a Imito from Geekbuying now to use to compare it with and I am will bench mark both running the same rom and hardware
