I intentionally choose a known brand name because it was well known for the quality of all the features and this seller used those very points to sell this unit for a higher price than he could expect to get and the expectation of more sales generated by the brand. I spent the money and I got a product with a boot screen with the logo of a different company called R-BOX and there is in fact a company that makes a rockchip 2019 chipset, and I would almost bet this is a unit they make.

If I want a Ford truck I dont expect to buy it from a plymouth dealership and the same applies here if if your using the reputation of the name because of its reputation and charging me for the quality behind that name I expect it to be what you said it was and not have to assemble the engine at home after I get it.

Once I flashed the rom and played with settings for hours It now runs pretty smoothly, but there were issues with blootooth at first and a few minor freezes and other minor snags that seem to have worked out after it was rebooted a few times and apps installed and removed to fine tune it some ....

I intend to buy a Imito from Geekbuying now to use to compare it with and I am will bench mark both running the same rom and hardware
Yes! Thank you! In a factory if they have poor quality control you never know what kind of product you'll be receiving, yes - it may look legit, but it is far from. Most stuff I've read (and I can attest to this to some extent), there really is a difference between the units that are sold by Geekbuying, and the units you buy everywhere else. I'm going to go with the trusted name here, besides they have a special going right now you can pick up a red iMito MX1 for $59, which is $11 less than what I paid on Amazon for a knock-off!

I just recieved a email from Vali offering me a 8 gig sd card and a invitation to buy another unit LOL

He says that he is getting in a shipment of Imito mx1's with the logos on them now if I would care to return the unit ....I told him I flahed the rom and wont be returning it or buying another from him again and since I have my own escrow account with the Chinese wholesalers I can get as good as he supplies for myself at better prices ... I will read the forums and pay attention and stick with some one that has a loyal customer base before I do that .

I have to thank the people on this forum for providing a very nice rom and very clear instructions and software that does work to flash it with. It worked exactly as Bob said it would and while it did require the alternate method that was not unexpected and did solve the problem .
When you find a product that people are willing to put as much effort as Bob does to build new roms and keep them current you know you have found something people have found to be a good product .

I bought my Imito MX1 from Amazon and got a legitimate unit. Branded, runs fast, flashed Finless 1.5 no problems. Just be sure you're buying form the Geekbuying amazon store or from Geekbuying directly!

a little late but got that now

I managed to flash the rom and update it and today removed it from the case and it is a rockchip 3066 and the memory is reporting what Bob says it should now ... I found the memory modules a mix of three different chips all marked 256 x 8 and a push button microswitch of unknown function close to the micro sd slot ... PCB board is green and in the forums I have read of a blue and a red Pcb so far that were Imito but not a green but who knows on that count ..

I ordered a imito from geekbuying today and should get it Tues of next week and will compare the two ....

The Imito from Geekbuying came in and just from a quick look quality is much better

Just from looking at the marking alone the difference is apparent but when you start looking closer than that even more so,all memory chips are matching sets of the same manufacturer not to mention a reset button actually inside behind the hole where your supposed to insert a paper clip ect to do this .... I can just see Imito clones dying from people attempting a reset using a paper clip or needle and shorting out the board because there is noting there .

Components all appear to be of better quality in general and sturdier in construction .... Thank you Geekbuying ! cant wait for my quad core I ordered from you to get here now so I can load it with ubuntu and have a full fledged minicomputer running on solar power to build a project I am doing ...

Did you already get your order from geekbuying? Looks like you had a pretty good turnaround time. I just replaced the generic MX1 w/ an MK808B (seems to have better support for now), and I'll probably end up going with a Minix Neo X5 eventually.

Damn, wish I would've read this thread first. I ordered an iMito from Amazon last week and the seller was Geekbuying. While checking my tracking yesterday I noticed that the same exact link I bought from suddenly had Amazon prime shipping. Since I didnt recieve my Geekbuying Imito yet, I decided to order another one with next day delivery, the seller was the infamous VALI, even though it was the exact same link I used to purchase from Geekbuying.

I really hope VALI, got their act together and started shipping real iMito's. If not I'll just return it and keep waiting for the Geekbuying one to arrive.

I ordered my second Imito from geekbuying on amazon and yes it is here

I did get this one fast but lol I had severaldiscussions with amazon and VALI both last week end result was some cash back from both in the end and I keep the clone to test ....

I also though I had placed my first order with geekbuying and then suddenly discovered it was not when it shipped .... dont know how that happened but I bade sure the second one was ordered from the geekbuying storefront and not a link in the search ....

Vali swears he is selling brand name Imitos and said he had a shipment of them coming that had the logo if I wanted to return the first ... lol I said no way I will keep it with the $20 rebate I got and compare it with one from geekbuying ..... glad I did major differences inside but the clone will be a test unit for new roms ect ... if it can run them the real deal should do so better

My VALI iMito just came in today and it looks like I got a bootleg. There is no iMito logo on the item and it has the R-Box logo when booting. Also when I run Android System info it is identified as a UG007. Amazon is giving me a refund and I'm returning the item. I really wish my geekbuying iMito can get here soon. Been waiting over a week.

Yeah I pulled apart my MX1 from Vali and the board is green! it states on the geekbuying website that the original should have a blue board! Also the build quality is just terrible on these units coming from Vali, my OTG port already crapped out, the unit itself runs hot and slowly! Lots of problems here! I've picked up an MK808-B for the time being, and I'll pick something else up later once we have some quad core units! Also I had the exact same issue with my order at geekbuying! I thought I had gone through with the payment but found that in fact I had not processed the payment, kinda strange, but it went through the 2nd time and PayPal took the payment immediately. Looking forward to getting a unit with a bit larger user-base, and more customization options.

exact same unit as my Vali unit

but mine runs pretty darn good after going through the mill today testing .... decided to try several roms at ramdon that sounded good from all over the web ...... did every thing I could in fact all day to get one to load with mixed results from black screen and locked upto booting into cwm mode and managed to figuer out how to get it flashed back to finless rom in between each ....

Getting out of cwm recovery was the hardest but gave me the best info on getting it back to flash mode and that was hold the button on the side in while hooking usb up and detaching it fairly quick correct combination is hold button in plug in and unplug repeat while the flash utility is running so you know when it reconnects and then wipe nand and flash finless again .... Oh and get a old style mechanical usb mouse if you get stuck in cwm mode that is the only input that will work to navigate the recovery mode and use it !!!!

and it is up and running stable for about two hours since then .... nex.t I try for picuntu dual boot and mk808 roms.

Mean while the real imito is sitting to the side waitng for me to get a grip on the basics of these units on the clone making sure I dont damage it with testing ...

I have a quad core coming from geekbuying from china to load ubuntu on so I have a linux unit to use for the more advacend stuff later and learn on. Ran ubuntu on my 6core amd for a while when windoze was doing the transistion from xp and feeding us total crap that you could not even get drivers for untill win 7 came out not that good with it but I could get my wireless cards drivers compiled and running on it . Linux was a real pain to find a wireless card that would work on it at all for a while and ubuntu was the easiest to figure out .... lol my desktop has sat idle for a month or more now and Im in couch potatoe mode on the laptop for the rest of the winter .... lol 19 inch true high def tv with hdmi ports and vga sitting in front on me being used as monitor when im playing with new toys and for netflix ect when I not .... now it has the clone hooked to it and is my test platform for it ... once I am satisfied with the imito it will be attached to it permanantly and I have a 12 volt mobile 19 iinch high def multimedia and internet unit ... I try and buy all my stuff with dc in and I have 1000 watts of solar panels outside to run them .
                        I love solar !

Could someone run Android System Info on their Geekbuying iMito so I can see what comes up. Here is what comes up on my VALI iMito.
