    Well..... dont wait around today. There are still some issues implementing some changes.

    The new libstagefright.so that enables hardware decoding in XBMC appaers not to work on 4.2.2. It boot loops the device. So we have to hope that it is actually included now in 4.2.2.
    I dont have time to test it right now myself. but if in fact it is not included, we are stuck until Rockchip makes a new one for 4.2.2

    Also what slowed me down today is I started getting NAND flash errors when validating the flash. I spent some time troubleshooting that and it turned out my USB cable connector must be bad as a new cable solved it. I guess I wore out the cheap contacts on the cable pluging and unpluging so often flashing ROM
    Sheesh never thought I would wear out a cable!

    Anyway, still working on it but dinner is approaching! So I may not finish tonight.

    P.S. I dunno guys. 4.2.2 has some cool features but I think I still like my 1.7 ROM myself.

    Oh and the zoom mouse button thing is not going to happen first release. It's going to take a lot of work to get that going if at all. the libinput.so wont work on 4.2.2 either!

      Theoreticaly it should be in, the update is from the 5th of March Chen his change where done on the 2nd of February so his libstagefright patch could have made it (if it was accepted and got in every branch)

      Though cant test myself as my Tablet has major (Graphic Issues, compared to finless 4.1.1 based Rom) problems with this ROM seems the 4.1.1 3.0.0.8 kernel wont do it anymore and a 3.0.0.36 is required. Or by default the ROM is Setup for 1080p and i cant find where

      And i have low hopes that many if any Tablet Manufactures will update any RK3066 to the 4.2.2 SDK any time maybe im wrong though (at least i hope so)

      Only the RK3188 Tablets seem to be updated to the 3.0.0.36 Kernel and so would be 4.2.2 compatible (and every RK3188 Tablet Manufacturer is indeed advertising with a 4.2 update) i hate this strategy

      Though that RikoMagic released a 4.2 for their RK3066 stick there is still hope that Tablet Manufactures will follow (at least the higher class ones maybe)

      Anyway gonna release my own Tablet ROM today did as good as i could building it natively under Windows entirely (for now)

      Finless btw i have a major issue several apps seem to detect the userid state of the system and i think if they find it rooted (userid 0) they deny execution is there a way from outside to make them believe the device isn't rooted ?
      The initial root state is in the Kernel right ?

        I have no clue at this time. As you see above just to root the thing required a compatible SU binary. I have a feeling with the changing and security added to 4.2.2 and it's kernel, some apps expecially rooted ones may need an update to work.

        What you might try is go into superuser and in settings allow root for ALL users.

          FYI, none of the KO modules I have been using so far like xpad.ko, tun.ko, etc are compatible with this kernel. So I am hoping to find some recompiled already.

            OK so looks like Rikomagic is getting smarter!

            xpad.ko is already in the kernel
            I know cifs and md4 are also.

            Now just checking tun.ko


            I am getting closer! I think I will have a BETA ROM out today.

              Dang man! permissions on 4.2.2 are crazy with security!

              Be careful messing with this ROM. Permissions are major inforced!

                BUG FOUND!

                So I kept having some wierd problem.

                Every now and then after a ROM flash or a cold reboot (removing power), wifi would refuse to connect!
                Then all of a sudden I could never get it to connect so I decided this time to find out why.
                A dmesg quickly showed a mcc1 issues and forced shutdown and unload of the wifi driver.
                It also showed some external SDcard errors right before and after this event.

                Sure as hell! BUG....

                If you have a external sdcard inserted then right after a ROM flash and boot up, PROBLEMS....

                Remove the sdcard and reboot. Setup wifi and get connected.
                Then insert the external sdcard.
                If this happens after a cold boot, then you need to do the same.

                So folks, we have akernel bug here with how the sdcard is managed and the wifi. I can pretty much reproduce it every time.

                    Usually i use it, but dont work for me in this Rom. And supersu works but only with the first user.

                        Yes it is what I use, and chainfire announces in xda, we can use it without modifications in custom roms, but i can't make multiuser root work, not a problem really, cause I think one user rooted is enought. But the problem is how change user. Do you know how make that?

                        I finished today my scripts kitchen, and fun_ gives permission to use his cwm recovery.img in modded roms, tomorrow I will try 3.0.8 kernel so I am working in a mk808b(rk903) so no WiFi on it.

                        More news, Omegamoon says that kernel sources are based in 3.0.69, but with 3.0.8+ tag for compatibility, and he is working in rk903 too

                          I have finished my MK808 ROM. I am now actually trying to port this to the MK808B. On my Sunvel clone the ROM boots with the 3.0.8+ kernel but the screen is all jacked up. So they once again changed how the screen display works. I am hoping it is just the EGL, stagefright stuff but I will find out tonight.

                              BTW how about opening a subforum for this release? That way we could have one thread for each issue.. having a single thread with lots of different issues mixed is a bit confusing sometimes. Would this be easy to do?

                                I will make a stickY post for 2.0 BETA. I do not think this needs a new forum. Maybe if I get successful porting it to other devices it might be worth it.

                                I will be honest with you all... 4.2.2 is cool and all but my 1.7 ROM rocks. If you really want 4.2.2 we are basically starting all over again to add features. None of my code on 4.1.1 is easily ported. I cannot believe how much has changed in 4.2.2
