Ow that's good news! I'll test some SD content myself to see if i get scrambled picture and i'll give the minix hybrid a try later to see if that fixes it for me too. That would be another thing i can add to my thread.
    - UG007-II with Finless iMito MX1/2 1.7a ROM and UG802 2Dark4U 1080p overclock kernel and USB WIFI dongle.
    - MK808 with Finless MK808 1.7c ROM and 2Dark4U 1.4 MK808 1080p overclock kernel.
    - MK908-II: XBMC full 1080p playback with a 1080p kernel HERE

Not sure if it was fixed on purpose, or simply the stock firmware had a fix for it, but there is no need to toggle libstagefright.so on and off, with that firmware no stream I have tested is scrambled. The hybrid firmware seems now an absolutely must for XBMC usage.

There are positives and negatives to each firmware. I really enjoy the explorer stock app which is missing from the firmware, but the minix hybrid seems to do a much better job at hiding itself when in apps. It just seems like a much better stock rom to customize than what finless had to work with.
Is this the one you are talking about that fixes the sd streams? Link

I plan to make a new ROM based on the stock ROM Lewy used. I just have not had time. Yes that new Neo ROM has some fixes in it that I had to try and do myself in 1.7.

Ok thanks Bob. I haven't tried it yet but I did try your 1.7c rom last night. I couldn't use the omegamoon kernels without it causing my video to drop or my stick to lock up, so I gave up on that and went back just using your rom without that kernel. Is there any way you could do just the gpu overclock/unlock on the MK808 rom for your next release, or at least an optional kernel for it that does this? I don't really need the cpu overclocked, just the gpu to help with xbmc. If this is too much to ask then don't worry about it, I know you have a life away from here so that's fine.

I will have to update my FAQ at some point.

The scrambled video problem is definitely fixed, however there is an usual bug now where it will force anything 4:3 to 16:9, also on a select few streaming plugins it will not allow you to go forward or back, if you try skipping ahead you will only hear audio... not major by any means, and can be easily turned off by disabling libstagefright.so.

I ran this test mkv of monsters inc. Using the 720p kernel it was dropping frames like crazy on XMBC. On another player like MX it ran smoothly. Using 1080p it also ran pretty well, with just a hint of a dropped frame for a second or two.

We are talking very high bitrate, which I'm sure only a few people use, but the native XBMC player is massively slower compared to others, and its entirely not out of the question to be able to one day play 1080p with that kernel without overclocking. It will be interesting to see what will happen, if we finally can get fully working custom mk808b kernels, or XBMC will dramatically improve to the point an overclocked GPU is not needed for it.

Looking forward to see your take on it Bob. I assume the USB to Ethernet as default will be included? Would make switching to an overclocked 808 kernel and losing wifi/bluetooth that much easier.

You'll have to clarify what you mean by your video 'dropping'. You should just run a 720p kernel and get everything working first, as it could be a whole host of issues from other sources.

On 1.7c with the 720p kernel that comes with the rom, and on the stock rom/firmware, I can use it and not have any problems with the video signal going to the tv other than the MK808 dropping frames now and then in video or the SD video corruption with hardware accel turned on in xbmc. Using the 720p omegamoon kernel the display (output to tv) would be fine for a while then the tv would say "No Signal" meaning the video signal dropped from the device. The only way to get it back is to unplug the stick and plug it back in. This is with the power adapter that was included with the MK808 and using an iPad power adapter. On the stock rom and 1.7c with the 720p kernel I can set the governor to performance and see a performance increase and not have any problems with the tv not getting a signal but flashing the omegamoon kernel (720p) makes the device highly unstable on both power adapters. I know this could be a problem with both adapters but until I can get a better one I'm not able to use this kernel.

I did notice that going into setcpu and antutu cpu master it says the omegamoon kernel's cpu is at 1800 MHz instead of being limited to the 1600MHz that the slider is at.

This to me screams power supply issue, especially if its fine on 720p. Getting a good 2a supply is probably the first thing I would do, as this fixes a ton of problems for people with freezes and reboots ect. These things are sometimes extremely underpowered. I can't power a hard drive without a self powered hub, as the USB can't give it enough to work correctly.

Nexus 7 chargers are a good bet.

Could also be a heat issue.

As for the previous question, yes, that link is for the rom with the fixed SD corruption issues.

I've been able to plug in flash drives using the otg connector and run them fine off the power adapters I've got but yah, guess I need to break down and get a new one.

Also, sorry for the thread hijack.

Flash drives are also fine for me.

My 2tb HD however has no chance with it, it even turns the light off the moment it connects via USB... and this is a powered device.

No problem, I'm sure I'm not the only one willing to help. I still don't think there is enough info about this.

The new XBMC advancedsettings.xml should be everywhere, as I consider this a huge deal.

Edit: Question for Abducted. Since you're currently lucky enough to be able to use overclocked kernels, with an overclocked kernel, what is the speed of the XBMC GUI? as currently on stock settings at 1080p it's only 30fps.

I am just in the process of flashing the minix hybrid, but it doesn't want to boot (MK808 version) going to give the G4 version a try.
Once i get it up and running or when i flash back to Finless MX1/2 with 2dark4u kernel i'll let you know.

BTW doesn't a MK808 kernel work on your devices? Without WIFI maybe, but atleast you can runsome tests from SD-card or external-HD. Or use a WIFI dingle or USB to ethernet adapter.

I have a UG007II so when i use the UG802 kernel i loose WIFI too, i'm using an USB WIFI dongle at the moment. (Custom UG007(II) kernel is in the make)

                              EDIT:
Oke, seems like i cant get those Minix hybrids to work on my UG007II. So i flashed back.
                              I'm getting 62FPS using 2dark4u 1080p OC kernel (GPU 466mhz, CPU 1.6ghz)
