I think you misunderstood me. The file you have labled as .soORG is the one leolas has in his zip (so that would be the new version (2.619.920 byte) )
So that would mean the one in your zip file named libstagefright.so (without ORG) is the old version (2.599.368 byte)

So if you're replacing the one on you device with the one named libstagefright.so (without the ORG) you might be replacing the old version with another copy of the old version. I'll get the file of my (unupdated) stick and see what filesize that one is.

Or of course there is the chance leolas messed up.

Finless 1.7 and only happens upon reboot. I may just decide to keep it forever plugged into power, tweak all my settings & pray for there not to be a power outage ha.

You're making my head hurt .

Currently this is how it is with me.

        libstagefright.so 2,539kb = No video problems.
        libstagefright.so 2,559kb = Errors.

The one in Finless 1.7/CWM.zip is 2,559kb.

I have only seen the 2,539kb in the Hybrid rom.

I wish I had a better answer, I'm at a loss as to why it's doing that, I take it you haven't been fiddling with the XML files at all? Seems really bizarre.

Unless for some reason, your mk808b keeps deciding to wipe the storage space on boot, I don't see why it should be happening.

Oke i just pulled the libstagefright.so from my MK808 with 1.7c Finless ROM (which i flashed this morning and didn't change anything) and it's 2.599.368 bytes (or 2.539kb)

According to your zip file that would be the updated version. But according to leolas's zip file it's the old version.

By "Finless 1.7/CWM.zip" i assume you mean those pre-made CWM zip files also by leolas? Maybe he already replaced the libstagefright.so in those to the new version, which might explain why you already had the new one on there and replaced it woth the old one?! I'll ask leolas.

The good thing is we both agree on which version works best (the one with the smaller file size).
What's not clear is if that's the old or the new version.

BTW the .soORG in your zip file is dated 28-3-13 while the .so is dated 23-2-13. Might not be the original date, but still why is that?

I haven't touched a thing . I realized it after the 2nd day when I started changing settings in skins, that when the stick would be powered off, it would give me the vanilla version of XBMC everytime upon reboot. Tested it out several ways, and have asked around but no one seems to know why. Thank you for your hel[/support though, it's much appreciated.

Im going to try whatever else you or anyone may suggest.

Have you tried the "real" XBMC version with hardware acceleration? To see if that has the same problem?
You can read THIS post, to get the info you need.

Because if i understand correctly it's just your XBMC that does this right? Android settings or other apps are working normally?

If that was directed at me, I have tried both the XAF build & "real" XBMC for android from XBMC.org Playback is fine for me on both, but Ill look into that thread later if it will help out my problem. Thank you

In that case if you've already tried both i dont think that will solve it.

I dont know how important XBMC is for you and how much other stuff you've installed and/or tweaked, but have you tried re-flashing it? Maybe using a different apps partition size to mix things up, maybe a different ROM completely, stuff like that?

Yea I dont want to reflash again just yet. I may ask "ididmytime" what he thought I could do if the problem was in that file, regarding XBMC reinstalling everytime & tweaking it that way firstly.

I think he wants to know if the files are really gone from that folder he mentioned (like sources.xml) or if they are still there but XBMC just isn't using them for some reason.

I can reinstall/tweak/reboot and try again when I get home. Thank you

Oke talked to leolas and as it turns out he apparently used the wrong/old libstagefright.so in his CWM zip file. So that explains the mix up. So ididmytime your zip file is correct. That also means the MK808 1.7c ROM comes with the updated libstagefright.so by default.

Not sure why your ROM came with the old version, but you used a MK808B ROM right? And also the CMW zip version to flash it right?

                          So in conclusion:

OLD VERSION OF LIBSTAGEFRIGHT.SO = 2559kb. Video artefacts and crashes
NEW VERSION OF LIBSTAGEFRIGHT.SO = 2539kb. Great video, no crashes.

1.7c was never released for MK808b, only 1.7, and that version definitely contains the old version, which explains why you didn't see the artifacts.

I will make an updated FAQ later. I have also tried the new version of Hybrid quickly, now it's got init.d support and supports the 2dark4u kernel.

Same results, still wont do 60fps with XBMC on an overclocked kernel, and the ethernet script causes some big issues, much worse than 1.7.

Edit: 60fps is possible on this one, when Ethernet is plugged in system settings keeps crashing, has now magically stopped and fixed itself.

It is a better rom, it does benchmark better, but don't consider it as dependable.

I really really hope this isnt the solution to my problem but...As I was digging through the settings earlier tweaking everything before I reboot to see if it "reinstalls" I came across...the profile section. I have no idea why I never went into "Master..." tab. If I set up a profile, will it start saving all my settings? Should I use the default master one or create a new one? I started to mess around with the Master Account which I saw had a series of "Lock" settings. Does this mean "save" in this case? Cause if so, Im an idiot and sorry for wasting your guys' time.

i dont think that's it. I've never changed anything in there and everything is saved for me.
