Tronsmart T428 Stock ROM - disccusions on the best ROM

The stock 4.2.2 ROM mine came with also had the missing frame problem in Netflix. This is where the first complaints started rolling in about the problem.

Sometimes I wonder if we are all talking about the same problem. That is, while watching a video it looks like every 10 frames or so it is missing. Thus slow pans in video show as steppy skipping. If you move the mouse around it stops doing this.

The stock firmware I got was off of the geekbuyng blog it is 440mb, when you boot it up it flashes the tronsmart logo, if the one you had showed the word android its a different one. And yes we are talking about exactly the same problem here lol, its 100% better for me using the one from the link I posted. I am only testing with 720p mkv files though I havent tested anything 1080

The good news for me is that with your hwcomposer.rk30board.so now i have an antutu score of 17415 better of all other rk3188 devices.

but in mx player i don't like.

Nice, I haven gotten anywhere near that. Ive had to set my cpu to 1.2ghz max because reboots during antutu with anything higher. I really need to get a new power supply or something idk but my top score at 1.2ghz max as 13077. Everything is still very snappy though.

Stauzo, I don't know what your issue with the RK remote thing is. It does not cause me any stability issues or other things you keep complaining about. I am not seeing this issue either in benchmarks or use. All of the 3066 ROMs have this in it and NO ONE in those forums is complaining about it.
I think your chasing a ghost here.

the annoying thing about rkremote is that it works in a weird way and not play nice with other remote keyboard/joypad apps/drivers.

for eg if you have a rom with rkremote and activate a droidmote server or sixaxis controller you wont be able anymore to click "install" to the standard apk sideload requester or "play" in a lot of games because rkremote intercept keypress at interface level and change how they are interpreted instead of using a standard linux hid device, droidmote and sixaxis uses standard devices and dont know that those keypress are already intercepted and switched so they do tneir own intercept and switch (because android uses a different key press table than regular linux/windows for its interface actions) and so you get a double switch returning to the original keycode - the result is that your "left mouse button" action get read as "keyboard enter press" action, which wont work for some requesters.

Apart that inject events in the ui from inside the source code of Android create problems on all apps and only a fool can think of doing this.

Mainly the problems is not like the problem described by you.

The install problem is different situation and is a security policy of Android that don't permit to press on install button when an app use same things in the Androidmanifest.xml. (you can move on it with arrows and click with the central button. This is not a problem)

DroidMote and Sixaxis simulates real devices in the Android OS at kernel level and this devices are managed from the OS like real external devices without any problem. This devices are compatible with the Android standard and you can do with it many things and do not create any problem or interference with Android.

Instead the bad app rkremote intercept events also from other devices and reinterprets some events as not android standard. It modifies the normal operation of Android and modifies the original source code of Android.

An example is the central button of DroidMote, in any rom, in any device, is a normal enter key that work well. Instead in all modified Android rom with rkremote inside, the enter key of DroidMote is reinterpreted as last mouse position click.

This problems, with DroidMote is solvable easily with a custom keylayout, but remain the fact that rkremote reinterprets events of other devices, and make your rom not a standard Android rom specially in the input devices managment.

This is only an example, but the main problems are not these. It create problems in the wifi stability openenig many udp port not managed well and create many wifi problems caused by the ehomediacenter.

But the most negative part is that it makes the whole ui unstable and many Android app may crash.

Every app when start, read the actual configuration of the devices attached to the OS. Rkremote launches events from a device that does not exist and this can cause also the crash of the app.

But i repeat the mainly problems are wifi problems, slow ui, and the external input devices are reinterpreted.

In one word, the rom with rkremote inside, are rom who do not meet the Android standards.

Only a deficient can make an app like rkremote modifying the source code of Android.

I want a REAL ANDROID on my hdmi stick and not chinese things. If Rockchip want make an app like rkremote, can do an external app that people can unistall when it have problems.

The server part of Rkremote can create problems everywhere and undeterminable from the point of view of debugging.

I switched to software decoding to get around that and it plays back 100% smooth even with software decoding but its weird. Also wifi disconnects randomly, I think certain apps are causing it however, when I use HBOGO it will reboot the device for some reason, and once the unit has reset itself the wifi is no longer working. It still needs a lot of work but its one plus over any other firmware is in the cube rom video playback is very nice and with the hwcomposer that I posted it will work flawlessly even while using software decoding. Just keep in mind the trade offs

Im going to flash back the stock 4.2.2 rom and see how it handles the video playback. Im not sure if it is even that file tbh and I didnt test long enough with the one that youre using becuase of jitter. What really gets me is the random app restarting, I dont see how clicking on the icon for netflix or hbogo woud cause a reboot, and my ssh tunnel app disconnects itself every 2 minutes as well which is wasnt doing yesterday so I may just need to reflash too
