I'm super sure only of one thing about all rockchip devices, all the rom with the server part of RKremote inside are bad rom. The source code of Android is modified in a part very very sensitive and this change cause many problems to many apps , to wifi and to the stability of the rom.

I do not build rom, but I am investigating this problem from 4 months and now i know very well where is this cancer. In the services.jar and ruin mainly the Windows Manager Service and Input Manager Service.

And create many problems on the wifi in collaboration with ehomemediacenter that have inside a fake dlna responder that send strange brodcast events to the local network, and many times the router became crazy.

Only a fool can change in this way the Windows Manager Service and Input Manager Service.

I patched Netflix to work on this cube rom. Sorry to say but it has frame skipping in Netflix. It's a little different than the real T428 ROM but it is there.
The CX919 ROM has no skipping at all.

Don't focalize your attention on Netflix, but look first the basic operation of the rom. With a good base rom you can solve all problems. If you start from A chinese Android, you have always a not stable rom and not compatible with many app in the google play.

The china is excluded from Google Play, for this reason don't respect the google standards.

We want a real Android rom on T428 and not a real chinese t428 rom with an os that is different from Android

When you try the ROM I am uploading now, I think you will see. Performance is good and no frame skipping in any video Netflix or otherwise. At least none that I can see.

The Cube ROM would need a lot of work to get it right for a TV player.

By the way the china stuff your talking about you know is from Rockchip right? The RK remote was made by them for TV sticks. The demoed that at CES this year in January.

Are you on the stock cube rom? When I was on that it all types of issues. The one strauzo posted with the t428 kernel is a much better performer. Also will it be possible to implement frame skipping fix from the 4.1.1 rom on the 4.2?

I used the cube ROM with the T428 kernel just like he did. I had done that before like a month ago.

The frame skipping is in services for HDMI. I do not know if I can port it to 4.2.2 because 4.2.2 changed how HDMI works as well a DRM in relation to the kernel. I will have to see if I can do it. And there in lies the problem I am having. This ROM I am uploading there is no HDMI settings because it wont work with the T428 kernel. However the interesting part of this is that all other 4.1.1 ROMs had frame skipping. This is the only ROM that does not.

It's almost up. I will post a link soon for testing.

Yes. I'm talking about the shitty job of rockchip. That ruin all the rom with this cancer inside.

The video problems can be solvable by you also on standard Android rom derived from tablets.

All other parts are already 100 times better.

from three days, I'm using the last 26/05 rom of cube u30gt2 and seems to be very fast and stable and no stiffness (adapted with the latest kernel and modules of T428 + lib/hw/hwcomposer.rk30board.so of T428 + build.prop of T428 only for ro.sf.lcd_density=160)

with the original hwcomposer.rk30board.so of the cube you have many problems.

for example with the original one, if you put youtube videos in full screen you have black screen after one minutes. and you have also problems in mx player. try with the hwcomposer.rk30board.so of T428.

Well 4.2.2 will catch up sooner then later im sure, what this device really needs is just a polished rom period. 4.1 or 4.2 doesnt really matter as long as there is at least 1 solid daily driver out there for people to rely on. Cheers for all the hard work! the development on this device is coming along much faster then the mk808s

Bob the videos problems, if there are videos problems, can be solved.

I posted this rom to show you that the wifi is very very stable, the ui is fluid and fast, the antutu score is better and that all from google play work.

this rom don't have inside the source code of Android modified, all other roms with rkremote inside yes is a modified Android.

I tried that framework workaround and it didnt fix it for me lol, it just made netflix instantly reboot my t428. I will agree though there is still some frame skipping on strauzos rom but its pretty dang on close to being perfect and it has a lot of other stuff nailed plus
