UPDATE - Google Play update issues yet again! new 3.5.16 version

Hi Bob,

First all the sucking up stuff...love your rom, been using it since the first version and its been brilliant for ages, and I appreciate all your effots with this problem too.

I've hit this problem, (ALL apps report as not being supported by my device) I upgraded to 1.4 a few days ago and since then reflashed a whole bunch of times with this and 1.3 but still the market messes up as soon as the google play kicks in.

I'll be happy to test anything you have.

Yes, but not on my NB7. It crashed on my Motorola electrify when it updated from market to play. I had play, but when I updated or downloaded anything it crashed. Eventually had to reload stock ROM, reroot, and start over.

As far as my NB7 is concerned, I always had to clear data and cache, sometime several times maybe with a reset along the way, but it always eventually took.

I've reflashed lots of times and same result every time...even older versions of the ROM.

Do give it a try though.

Hey guys.
I found something strange and possibly related to the Play issues. If you log into your google accounts dashboard here: https://www.google.com/dashboard/b/0/?hl=en, It shows all your registered Android devices. Under each device is a link: more data stored about this device. the link shows an 15 digit IMEI #!? and its different for each device. (I have 17 different ones because I have reflashed my Polaroid PMID700 that many times and Google thinks its a different device after reflash.)

finless - I know you have done titanium backups and restored an existing device/account. Is this "IMEI" number the same on your restored account? I have not tryed to restore with Titanium so I don't have this info.

So I'm guessing the real question is How is this IMEI# generated?

I have yet to fix it with all the tricks out there.

I will have a patch kit for my 1.4 ROM very soon. I am testing it now in fact!

Ok fin, sorry it took me an extra day to get back to you(I got hit with a double shift at work), you said you want me to flash the 1.4 on my NB7 and if market fails, inject patch. Ok, but first let me give you some facts before we start. In Jan. i unboxed my NB7 with the #1211 sticker and a manufacture date of 11/1/11(i thought this recent date as odd coming from biglots) Very soon after, you released v1.4 for 1011 , i flashed it and ive been running that ever since as i've told you with no problems EVER, when you released v1.4 for 1211 i never flashed that rom once i started seeing the debacle that persued with the mix matched rom # that other user's were reporting about, because i suspect(no evidence) that my tab was originally a 1011 that probably got returned when all of the original firmare was still suspect, the fine gent's at nextbookusa did a refurb/update, slapped a 1211 sticker on it and dumped it back on Biglots(my local biglots manager told me that 90% of the original releases were returned). So before moving forward which 1.4 do you want me to flash? The 1211 v1.4 which i've never used or reflash the 1011 v1.4 ? Additionally id like to do this while your on the forum so that i can report and get the patch fix, or you can PM me the patch and i can do it (flash one or both 1211 / 1011 and PM you the results of both

Bob, I almost hate to post this, but.....
I lost Netflix on Friday and decided to Reflashed. I did my usual thing to get market to work, clear cache and data. Well after about a dozen times it was still a no go (I had not checked in on this thread to see your fix).

Then I wondered if it might just be as simple as Google somehow flagging my IP. So I tethered my phone, cleared the cache and there it was.

Wanting to double check before I posted anything, I spent part of a rainy Saturday flashing my NB about 7 times and here are my results in short.

It did not matter what IP I started with and how many times I cleared the data and cache it did not work.

When I used the second IP, cleared cache, and restarted it was there.

The last time I just opened it on 1 IP, then switched to the other, cleared and it was there.

There it is, how about some peer review of my data?

It happened to me with Google Play Store 3.5.15 integrated into rom and all it took to clear it was clearing the app data.

In most cases that fixes it for me when it happens.

Funny you should post this, just booted my Nextbook7 for the first time in a couple days and now everything shows up in the market ok. I wonder if it just took a long time to sync with Google. It even had 30+ updates for me where I couldn't see any before. I'll run with it until I have a problem then try your fix if it freaks out again....

New Google Play 3.5.16

Google Play updated again today!

3.5.16 is the new version.

And guess what, apps are missing again that use to show up with 3.5.15

This is getting crazy man... I just fixed all this for the people and now here we go again

UPDATE!

OK folks... This came up due to nighthaunt saying the Swiftkey Tablet X keyboard was showing as incompatible with the Arnova 10 G2 on my 1.5b ROM. Sure enough it did for me as well. Also Google Earth was showing as incompatible!

Well it is BUT if you give Google Play enough time to update the Play Store to 3.5.16 and do a clear data on the Google Play app, it will show back up again as compatible!

So I am going to update my ROM with the App Injector package and the new Google Play 3.5.16 as well as the updated Gmail that just updated yesterday.

So stay tuned for an updated release. BUT if you don't want to reflash just wait till you get the Gplay updated and go into manage apps and clear data for gplay and that should fix any issues.

OK update yet again!

I made a new app injector package using the NEW Google Play 3.5.16 and on first launch I am back to not seeing all apps. Swiftkey Tablet X does not show as compatible and Google Earth wont even show up.

So I am going to wait and see if Google updates the database. This reecent flash shows up as a new device in my Google list so I have a feeling it takes some time for it to updated.

I am not going to dump cache or anything and wait and just see if it works later.
