Hi! I have a95x (s905x) and I also hate the missing navbar & notifications! I got SystemUI.apk from Beeling m8s II - which specs are similar to this box.
Can I just replace it? or this file needs to be further modified for our box?

a friend of mine has an M8s+(s812- 5.1.1) and we tried your systemui.apk
the result is that now we have the up bar(status bar) but not the navigation bar(down bar)
we also tried the "RUSSIAN" systemui.apk , WITHOUT ANY LUCK!
so any suggestion for your systemui.apk?
do we have to change or add something in build.prop ro work?
can you even" fix" it for us?
any help will be appreciated!

Yes set to 0 but Tanix not work with it.

Guys for now you should be running the Tronsmart ported rom, It runs much better than the stock a95x rom and it has both a working notification and navbar.

Sorry I didn't notice that the thread got moved to the wrong area. Asked for them to move to the non x area. Hope you enjoy the tronsmart port. Several alternatives are available now.

Does anyone have any idea why when you edit the firmware for this box in the Amlogic firmware builder then repack .img root seems to be lost most of the time ?

UPDATE: Apparently this is only happening in the Tronsmart ported rom, Even if you just unpack and repack not touching anything root is gone.

Appreciate the heads up but that is for the s905x. I wish they didn't have the same name

Have to check but think because all the firmware is unified the sotware on most check to see if one or 2 gig model only then install as per same. If you pull up the last log in recovery it should show if it check for the 1 or 2 gig...

You're right, sorry about that. But when I looked further I found this: Click to download the firmware for this version (S905 CPU, 1+8G).
