OK, I know why the 1.7 didn't work. For the M8 Pro, since it was already rooted...I wanted to play around with how they did it, so I edited my kitchen script to skip copying over the Superuser.apk file.

When I did the M9 late last night, I forgot that I had done that, so Superuser.apk didn't get copied in.

This morning, I went in and fixed it. I'm uploading again.

Also, the recovery has been changed to CWM being the default, but you have the option of flashing the stock recovery if you want.

It's uploading, now...so wait about an hour from the time of this post.

          need help badly

first of all thanks for your dedication on helping us with this rom.
i just got a new pipo m9 and flash this rom.
every thing when fine until i reboot the table, and it get stuck in second boot logo.
at this point i an not able to flash any other rom, nor the original from pipo web site.
all get stock in boot logo. i can flash this one but can not reboot the table, because it gets stuck in boot logo.
i don't want to believe i do have a defective unit and have to send it back to the vendor.

          any help would be appreciated

The upload is finished for the 1.7 ROM. Just follow the same link.

Has anyone else gotten stuck on the boot logo?

i don't believe its your rom. it is my table not rom but only yours pass the boot logo. with the problem that after first boot, if i reboot the table it will stuck in boot logo.

              note using Rom 1.6V

                keeps booting into cwm recovery.

Please help me figure this one out...
I took my friends M9 to root with the new RileyROM 1.6 and after the "wipe cache partition" part and rebooting, it keeps booting into cwm recovery mode.
What went wrong and how can i fix that???

                Thanks

Just installed to my Pipo M9 3G - No problem! No stuck.
CWM and root are now in place.

Have you tried to clear dalvik cache under advanced in CWM? It could help, but won't hurt any if it doesn't.

Try flashing with a different USB cable.

That would be a challenge since for this tablet (pipo m9) it is and special one.the female part that insert into the tablet is larger than the regular cable out there.

You could attempt a few other cables, some are still able to make contact. You can also try trimming off 1mm of plastic around the connector of a spare cable to make the plug a little longer.
I can't comment on the sound when operating the reset button though, but I'm sure someone else can.

Wasn' there some procedure for flashing a softbricked unit?

Edit: Did you try, in RKAndroidTool included with the RileyROMs - to include the Loader with the flash? It seems to be de-selected by default. I suspect the bootloader might be whats corrupted in your case.
If this doesn't work, you can using RKAndroidTool for EraseIDB, then try flashing stock rom with RockShipBatchTool v1.7 and use the Restore button instead of upgrade.
