I have no idea how to tell if you have the old pcb tablet. You might be able to tell by serial number, but I don't know where the cutoff is. I suspect that a low number would indicate an earlier pcb.

Anyway, here is a link to the Pipo official firmware site. You can download the firmware for the old pcb.

You will need to use the RKbatchtool to flash this one, instead of the flash tool with my kit. Just look for it on the Pipo site or Google search for it.

If it works for your tablet, I'll be happy to cook a rooted custom ROM for you. I just haven't done it yet, since no one has requested one.

I did already try that and the result was a black boot screen.
I don't know but i got the feeling that this tablet is defected.

Please help me figure this one out...
I took my friends M9 to root with the new RileyROM 1.6 and after the "wipe cache partition" part and rebooting, it keeps booting into cwm recovery mode.
What went wrong and how can i fix that???
        thanks

The first boots after flash can take a LONG time. Give it Atleast 10 minutes before attempting to abort, force reboot, reset etc.

It is possible that yours and hidroela's case here are related. I suggest you keep a good eye on this thread, and follow development.

Just brainstorming here - could it be Quickboot that is the culprit? If flashing 1.7, will the tablet power on and boot up nomally, if not using and/or installing quickboot?

Right now I'm currently on the "chinese" origin of the most recent M8pro ROM. I tried sideloading Quickboot into that ROM, and its not working as it should.

Another thought; I remember an issue with MTK sets, where under flashing under certain circumstances the recovery would be placed in the cache, but not actually written to its appropriate place. The result was that the recovery would be there upon reboot to recovery after flashing, but after the following reboot FROM recovery, the recently flashed recovery would be gone again. Could there be a similar issue?

What is the reason for clearing cache after intial flash of the RileyROMs for M9?

well every time that i do flash RileyROMs i do wipe cache partition.
i will try this time with out wipe cache and use the power button,

what also got me confused is that this is the only ROM or image out there that flash and boot.

So none of the other roms you've tried, stock AND mods - will flash and/or boot??

Have you tried MetaRom? There's a V002 out now - it could be worth a shot when in such a hole as you are now. My apologies to rrileypm for suggesting "the competition", but at this point I believe it is definately worth the attempt.

Link on PM, don't want to post other non-stock roms in a RileyROM thread.

BTW - what version of RKBatchTool are you using?? And, check device manager to verify your RockUSB driver version.

finally flash stock image and working fine. (reboot 5 times all good)
will play with it for a while and try to root manually.
at this point a will not flash any thing else. i have been spending a lot of time a other's nice people time in here.
the main reason a bought this table was to test my android apps (i developed apps for android).so i am back to business.

i would like to say Thanks (and special to op randy and pr0xZen) to all of those that try to help me out and give me that extra push to handle the situation (i was about to sen it back to china) and that would mean at lest a moth of wait time, not to mention dealing with the vendor.

what i did i think it was i format using CWM in mounts and storage ->format system, data, cache, sdcard.

                          after that flash this
M9_官方中文版_NO-3G_update and after this one M9_WIFI_4.2.2 (no need of product key )new pcb-20130529

LOVELY to hear it finally worked out for you!

So as to have it straight for future reference; You booted to CWM (obviously not entirely by choice ) , then used the Mounts & Storage section within CWM to format System, Data, Cache and SDcard...?

After that you're partitions should be wiped fairy clean - did you proceed to flash stock ROM with RKBatchTool v1.7 ? If so - by means of "Upgrade" or "Restore" ?

You might consider flashing my version 1.7. You should have a better experience with this ROM, it's rooted.

I would flash the stock recovery, unless you plan on doing CWM backups.

the way i did it was first flash restore the second flash upgrade.
about cwm i was able several time to boot in to it pressing power and right after that keep pressing esc button.

one more time thanks for your help and have a nice day
