Hi,

You will need a USB Male to Male cable, there are plenty of guides here on how to flash with a PC.... I think this will be the only way you will be able to get back to a previous ROM.

Are the files and instructions here compatible for a M8S-II S905, or does the X in S905x make all the difference?

No worries, try each USB port on the box and make sure you get a late version on the Burning Tool, there are links on here for it, they are the usual issues.

The easiest way is to forget about the power lead and HDMI cable, you dont need them, plug the usb cable into the box, start the USB burning software, use a cocktail stick to press the button underneath and then plug the other end of the lead into the PC, you should soon see the device show up in the tool.. May take a few goes so stick with it,

The files will certainly matter the general procedure for using the tool should be similar, main thing is to use the male to male cable. ROMS for 905 will not work on the 905x.

auto over internet connecting update worked for me...believe it is from the 23rd of last month. I noticed no gain in wifi signal...(AWFUL)... all of you same on this? Still believe this is a box for direct connection only. Currently $32 usd on gearbest

Yea this is all for the 905X, if it does work it wont be optimal, to be honest from what I've seen the ROMs for 905 appear to be mature than the 905X, my advice would be to find a Lollipop ROM for the 905 and stick with that until MM matures....

Same here. When I bought it, wi-fi was excellent, which was quite a surprise for me.
With this latest update, it's totaly useless, cca 10% of maximum speed.
If only I knew, I wouldn't do any of updates

You would need to match memory, storage and probably wifi chip, there is always a risk in flashing make sure you have the stock firmware as a backup, you will need to be happy using burning rom...

lick123 ......You could prob roll back update... wifi on mine was worthless before and after. not crossing fingers on the next update though. I even removed the cover on the box and have the antenna pointing up like you would on a wireless router. Hardly any improvement. I'm probably asking too much for a low $30 box.
