bluesmanuk . Many users at Tvboxforum with D5 are experience crackling audio and laggy video with local content from hdd or usb and streaming via apps. Have tested with all roms and reduced apps using memory but still no change. Intermittent Crackling makes box useless. Theres a thread with video of the crackling and lagging. Any idea what might be causing it as its a common problem. No response from Manufacturer has me thinking this box is for the bin... Any help would be appreciated..Cheers

It is because of using the cheapest components and cutting corners(no testing before a device is shipped) that cause hardware problems.
It's not possible to use higher quality components if a device sells for less than $25.
No software update can fix that.
Lots of manufacturers will just push out new tv boxes with the latest chipsets and low quality components and forget about the old ones so new buyers just see their cheap prices and new hardware.

The RK3229 is actually one of the best video playback chipsets available but ship and forget manufacturers using low quality components are giving it a bad name.

True. I was I impressed by video quality but scratchy sounds destroys experience. Think I will avoid Nexbox and Dolamee as it's the same manufacturer in future. At least my Mi Box International is awesome

I use this one on my D5 and rarely suffer the same issues once optimised to take account of the limited RAM.

I don't believe for one moment that the issues that some are seeing is due to the components as there are many cheap ones that can perform perfectly well from a hardware perspective.

I think it's more a case of the firmware requiring some work but whether the manufacturers will do this is unknown and going by the lack of official responses so far on the TV Box forum, perhaps less likely to happen.

I have bought many Beelink X2 for $28 and no problems with any. The D5 has great picture quality but this audio problem is too common. Non response from Manufacturer and no Marshmallow update which could have solved problem. At least it was cheap..

I would imagine that it would work as is if the only differences are memory and storage.

                              Very strange.

Perhaps there is different hardware for the 2Gb model, which would surprise me.

Have you tried the other (and better) D32 Modded firmware?
