As far as I know SD controller in RK3288 SoC can support card with bus up to 8 bit wide with 26MHz clock speed and DDR mode. Therefore maximum transfer is about 52MB/s (50MB more realistically). Even so random access time is more important (especially for writes).

In previous post I made a mistake. Maximum transfer speed of SD card interface for Beelink R89 is 26MB/s because it can't lower supplied voltage for SD card slot to 1.8V .

Other thing is that buying SD card is quite a lottery. Even when you choose model and manufacturer you might not get same hardware as other users. For example look in post made by guilhermino in this thread. I got lucky and I have that card with "0x1b" manfid and "0x534d" oemid.

Should I buy a Sandisk Extreme or Sandisk Extreme Plus? The Sandisk Extreme Plus goes up to 90Mbs/85 for read and write. The Sandisk Extreme is 90/60.

I would go with the sandisk u3 extreme plus but only from a reputable seller lots of fake SD cards about. The Samsung 32GB PRO U3 card was slightly slower its the random r/w speeds that matter the most and that's what these cards excel at

hardware will not let it go faster then cpu can transfer. Distance traveled ect. I loaded on mk902ii got much lower score of 50000 but it in principle works thats for sure read write speeds help but to what point i cant tell until i test some more.

Lawless was image 16 or 32 gig sd card.
Testing on 32 gig samsung 90/80 and read write speeds nothing that i expected with very fast card.

Can you share how to get stock image onto sd card then ill test stock of a few devices sd ves internal. Good job on this antutu actually ran 3d test on sd card with very little skips pauses as in nan test

Its a 16GB IMG which is set for initial boot you'll only get 20 something MB sequential read but android does a lot of random io I think its all the caching it does but this is where the internal nand let's us down because it can't do it fluidly. The sdcard may not be faster due to the sdreader interface but its consistent and smooth. This won't give you the fastest R89 or rk3288 out there but it never stutters and gives me a usable device where before I couldn't do anything else while using Spotify because it would skip for fun

i did follow the instruction from OP but nothing, it's booting from internal.
i have mk902ii but i would like to try it from sd card to see if i can get rid of stuttering.

should i change bootloader or is the one with wasser 4.0.10 capable of booting from sd card?

Flash wasser to the internal as normal and you should then have the right bootloader on your device that allows it to boot from sdcard provided the ROM is compatible with your device any bricks are not down to me

I'll check later at work now as to which bootloader I'm on

Ive seen that in tests no pauses ect. That i like. The image was wrong for card i got. Can you explain the process to get firmware onto the sd so i can reproduce more then just the wasser (stock ect)

I successfully restored image to 32GB SD it was made with a 16GB card

Which card do you have?

I tried to do sd card for wasser rom get failure on No parameter file found. Exits without finishing. Loaded stock no problems testing it now.

There's 2 versions of linuxium script you used the standard which won't work in this type of ROM. I've killed SD slot on mine last night so can no longer do anymore for it I'm adraid

Another got antutu close to 60000 by changing min max to 1.8 in wasser rom. Sd card works ok but to hot for normal users. I may take tome port to rk902ii. That eay reduce cpu 1.6 max.
