OK, looks like cOOLio is no longer active in this thread, so do NOT ask him for help - is waste of time.
0. At last one from the links with this software 2.5MEE is still working (last week). I think it was megaupload.nz or something like this.
1. Software works for me on MXQ PRO 4K - model with "holographic" lettering and red 4K.
It is:
Code:Mainboard white printing: S905Q_V2.0 2016.08.11 (and on CPU itself - under radiator - is a S905 without any other letters nearby name - Q is a not related to types as S905X S905W etc) RAM 2x 4Gbit (=1GByte) DDR3 SDRAM (SK hynix H5TQ4G63CFR) 64G bit Nand Flash SanDisk SDTNrGAMA-008G Modem REALTEK RTL8188ETV (Note! users with model 8189ETV complains on lack of wifi connection - is a DIFFERENT model!!!) Hub controller GL850G HH4JB05Y22 624SFA3671 From diagnostic on HWinfo apk Android (strongly reccomend to check it before changing firmware): Device amlogic MXQpro Ethernet ICPlus_IP101A!G Sound AMLM8AUDIO RAM 1GB CPU Cortex-A53 / Amlogic Meson8B / Revision r0p4 Mode 32-bit Suppoered 64-bit GPU Mali-450 MP Device p201pro Build LMY47V Build date 08.09.2016 Realtek ID 0bda:0179
but on older PC with Win 7 works ok and whole prcess pass successfully
3. After reflashing all old data has gone (was not problem for me - just mentioned it to you will be not surprised)
4. If you think you "maybe dont like it" better backup old version of your firmware (how - was described on one from first pages, not sure which exactly) - there is NO option in menu to "boot from SD" and usage of toothpick is NOT longer working !!! (maybe possible to do it form command line, but I'm too busy with other things to test)
5. Keep in mind after flashing you should to use "any" Google account - othervise they can't update to actual versions and all Youtube/Google won't work showing faults. I had same issue with a "secured by phone number push", probably it is NOT very secure system, so dont use your business/finacial accounts on this. Quite same with SAMBA encrypted connections
6. For me system works pretty nice - INCLUDING local CCTV cameras view !!! (application onvier apk)
7. Unfortunately I cant install drivers for rtl-sdr #rtlsdr on it :/ - and can't hear PMR 446/Radio FM over it. If anyone had made this, please contact me (not sure if TV box USB is powerfull enough to provide such power consumption on this sockets)
8. There is a pretty big number apps which are working on it - when I compare availability to miBox
9. On my setup remote (from Aliexpress) wifi and Eth are working ok. (eghh... remote is bit rough)
10. Wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse MK700 works, but I have problem with using [ENTER] key to close phrase, have click with mouse to finish filling fields.
11. xBox 360 pad with Aliexpress wireless USB connection is NOT working, probably due different USB ID (And was working normally on miBox which I have as well)
12. Smoothnes of movie (for this I use ONLY 1920x1080 - I had no tests on other models) in my opinion is BETTER than on miBox
I hope it helps you a bit. I was on your position few days before and had to read all crappy posts - so I decide to wite this few wordsLast edited by bialy100k; 27 April 2022, 08:12.
