Regardless, I was unhappy with how warm the stick got with the Strauzo kernel so I reflashed the unit with the full Finless 1.4 (4.2.2). I would rather be confined to running just 720P and have a cooler temp than deal with the possible ramifications of having a stick's shelf life be reduced due to overheating.
I also turned off HW acceleration as I was having some audio artifacts present with certain videos. Once chaning it to SW video and audio, these artifacts went away.

As long as you have either a strauzo kernel or rom not necessarily both, the video problem should be gone. The right click issue is something that is worked into the Chinese roms that according to strauzo, make them buggy.
Stock 919 kernel and nexus roms should perform for everyone. Only problem for me with this combo is some 1080 movies fill the screen at times when other 1080s don't do it. But I actually did have this issue on the 908 kernel if I remember correctly. Maybe it's the scaling or forcing 720p. I don't get anymore NAND crashing or overheating. It's been on all day and still runs fine.
Personally I didn't care for the strauzo mk908 kernel/nexus rom combo my google play wouldn't install apps, flashed the 919 kernel and booted up and they all installed. That's pretty much the extent of that test.
Idk if any video playback issues have been worked into the nexus rom since the SDK2 v1, truly the only video problem is the 1080 filling the whole screen, frame skipping and audio getting out of sync on a couple of my video files. I thought it was the video file but I downloaded others and some of them do it too.

Installation question. I already had the Finless 1.4 installed so I just installed the Strauzo kernel. Is this incorrect to do or will this give me problematic results? Should I have reflashed the entire OS and swtiched out the kernel at the same time?
Just wondering as I know others using the kernel/combination have had good results
Thanks,

When I installed the n7 codec it made it all worse. Just my experience and I really don't have the patience to stick with it to try to get it to work well so it may very well work seamlessly on the 919 kernel/nexusrom combo. I don't use XBMC so y'all are gonna ha e to do that testing.

Try using the 919 stock finless kernel and strauzo's nexus rom. Stock kernel(drivers) are ok, stock rom(operating system) is buggy as hell. Strauzo puts more effort into fixing roms because for the most part stock kernels are good enough?(maybe?)

Thanks for the feed back. I agree with sticking with the Finless kernal as I was not happy with the heat increase of the stick using the 908 kernel. I will try this out with the nexus ROM and XBMC (both Frodo and XAF) and report back. Also, I'm thinking another one of my issues which may be leading to OS crashes is the quality of the stock charger. I'll be switching it out with a D-Link 5v/3A charger which has the 2.5mm barrel tip.

latest flash on my device is the CX919 finless kernel and the Nexus SDK2 multiwindow v1.1 - and i must say, even though some of my 1080 files fill the whole screen and don't give the proper aspect ratio, the video playback is phenomenal. even better than just the SDK2 v1. all i need is some USB audio out and i'll be happy as a clam!

yeah! it's pretty bitchin'! i don't really use the multiwindows feature, but it seems like video is getting better with each update! i also tried the new CX-919 1080p stock kernel and it was a bit clunkier... i'll have to do more 1080 video testing, but it didn't really seem to make the difference for me. i'll leave it on for a few days of video watching and see if i change my mind on it.
note: 1080p makes the stick quite warm!!

streaming youtube using wifi + bt speaker working?
hello, i'm connecting my cx-919 using wifi and also connected via bt to my bt soundbar. I try to watch youtube and it's very bad, not smooth video and audio. does this combination work for any of you guys out there? I also have a t428 and it's also the same problem. please let me know what combination of ROM and kernel is working to make this function work. if I connect using USB LAN, it's ok, smooth. and if I watch movies from SD card, also smooth. thank you.

The combination of 1080p stock kernel and Nexus SDK Rom is working well and the heat of the stick reasonable. Only problem i have is BT pairing. (BT is switching off and on and try to connect over and over).
I have compared the module section of libs with stock ROm and Finless.
Only 5 files are different and one is missing. I don't know if swapping the files can work. I have tried, but result is no wifi.
fyi,
missing: rkwifi.ko
different size: 8188eu.ko, mt5931.ko, mali.ko.3.0.36+, ump.ko.3.0.36+, vpu_service.ko.3.0.36+
