    Pipo M6 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.6 [SDK 2.0] - [Feedback]

This ROM is based on a Pipo official firmware dated 8/6/13. The last ROM was a beta version, this is official and I have reports that the kernel, by itself, improves smoothness.

    Rooted
    Debloated
    Google Play Store fixes
    init.d support
2, 4, 6, 8gb user app space by selecting a parameter file to flash
The default recovery is stock, but I have included CWM Recovery as an option.

    Download

Sdk 2.0 or 1.0? Anyone tried? Better than 1.5?

kasty told me the build.prop line "rksdk" has "SDK 1.0", so apparently it is SDK 1.0. There has been no official SDK 2.0 yet, only leaked beta versions.

Thanks pulsar! Has snyone tried 1.5 and 1.6 together and compare the lagginess? So far 1.5 was best but ifwe return to sdk 1.0 ı am afraid it would be more laggy..

          Hi Randy,

There is CWM( v6.0.3.1 ) for Pipo M6. I have tested only the backup function and is OK. You might want to include this in your next build. Here is link to my post:http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...or-Pipo-Max-M6.

            Hello
Is it possible to add OpenVPN support to this device?

OpenVPN works for me on 1.5. I haven't tried on 1.6.

I used Tun.ko Installer (from Play Store) to install the Tun module. Then Christophe Vandeplas' OpenVPN Settings as the client app.

The 1.6 3G download link doesn't seem to be working.

However I thought the 3g and non-3g ROMs were one and the same or is that just for the unofficial ROMs?

No, the wifi-only has some modules and related code removed, and vica verca obviously. And if there is some fix specifically only related to 3g functionality - it probably wouldn't be applied to the wifi-only roms.

Thanks, guess I'll just have to wait for Riley to fix the link.

                      It is fixed. Try again.

                      Thx for letting me know.

So why the thread title says "SDK 2.0"? From what I heard, it is still SDK 1.0.

Where did you hear this from? Rockchip released the new SDK more or less 2 months ago - and Pipo were one of the first to make use of it. Don't see why they would use an old development kit at this point - especially for a new(er) device... O_o

Edit: just saw your previous post. Could the build.prop have been taken from an older rom, just for convenience? ...as an alternative to do all the modifications all over again...

Nope, the two leaked beta versions (which Riley used to make 1.4 and 1.5 ROMs) have "rksdk" line with SDK 2.0. Why would Pipo do it properly for their beta version, and take a lazy approach with their official ROMs?

Was the build.prop you checked, from an official Pipo ROM, or RileyROM mod?
