If you are having problems getting some apps to install via Google Play Store, there are some tweaks to allow for more apps being compatible with your device.
The other tweaks are pretty much special features that you don't necessarily need unless you want to do more advanced stuff...like running init.d scripts and using busybox commands.
Also, if you don't like having to be limited to only 2gb user app space, you can use my ROM to expand that to 4, 6 or 8 gb to have more room for apps.
Those are the big features.
I try to do a ROM for each of the new firmware releases...so as Pipo improves their firmware, more features are sometimes added...like multi-window support. Sometimes they adjust the kernel settings to fix problems with wifi and other internal features.
That in a nutshell, to me, is a pretty good reason to run a custom ROM.
Beware, though, there is a certain amount of risk involved in flashing. If you are a novice...read all the threads related to your device, so you are aware of any problems other users encounter. Sometimes a new firmware isn't necessarily better than the last. I'm only human, and while I consider myself a detail oriented person...I do make a mistake every now and then, and the users will tell me. That's when I go to work fixing my errors (usually it is just something I forgot to do in the process...and I'm trying to get better at that). Also read thoroughly the readme file in the ROM kit, and the First Time User's Guide before you attempt to flash a custom ROM...it will save you a lot of time and headaches...and keep from having to ask questions that have already been answered on Freaktab many times.
How's that for a responds? HAHAHA!!!!!
