It was Kasty who told me, so presumably it was in the official ROM s/he downloaded. I haven't installed 1.6 (still on 1.3a). I keep waiting for the official SDK 2.0.

@ rrileypm ; Could you unpack the official rom (if you have it) and confirm/debunk this?

If this is true, I don't see any other real reason, than a conflict with the M6 hardware and the sdk. To my knowledge, the development kit itself hasn't "leaked" yet. If it had, Rockchip roms would likely be in quite a different place by now.

This last 1.6 firmware is definitely NOT SDK 2.0 as its not as responsive as 1.4 and 1.5.. I think this should be named 1.5b or should be stated as SDK 1. Anyway let's hope a better official sdk 2.0 comes out asap! I think I will go back to 1.5...

@ rrileypm ; Now that we have a full working CWM; Are you going to make ROMs that we can install through CWM recovery in the future? I believe using CWM is less prone to errors as I usually do with my Newman N2. Thanks man.

Definitely the same kernel. I have unpacked it and compared kernels; the one on this is the same with 1.5.

I do have a template I can provide to make a flashable zip file, but I've never tried it. If you want to play...download one of 900supersport's Cube U30GT2 ROMs. In it is a folder called CWM template. There is a readme file that explains how to set it up.

One limitation is that you can't change anything in the parameters. For instance, if you have 4gb user app space installed on your system, you can only flash that same setting through CWM.

Try it and please let me know how it works for you. I can't really support it, because I haven't used it...but 900Supersport can answer any questions you might have.

              Enjoy!!!

I saw that in TNT firmwares for Chinese tablets like u30gt that one
of the features is a framework.jar fix for gameloft games.
is it not needed for 4.2.2 roms?
can you please add it to future versions?

Have you upgrade the firmware on your device? Do it and you will understand what I mean.. Unreal Citadel is % 1.5 slower on my machine and overall browser and settings menu are laggier. It is so noticable because so far I tried 4 firmwares.. This one is a bit better than stock but laggier than 1.4 and 1.5.

No, I have'nt. I do not see any reason to do another flash since kernels are the same. I'll stick to 1.5 for now, maybe come 1.7.

Same or not kernels this one behaves feels and looks like SDK 1.0 definitely NOT like 1.4 or 1.5 with SDK 2.0! I downgraded (upgraded?) to 1.5 and will be waiting for a proper SDK 2.0 firmware..

Can you add loading module tun.ko for OpenVPN to boot.img?

In CWM, wipe cache and partitions, also wipe dalvik cache before doing a restore.

Unless it didn't copy over correctly, I did add tun.ko to the system/lib/modules folder and added a line in the init.rc file in boot.img to activate tun.ko. So you should already have what you need...unless there is something else I need to do.

So far, you are the only one who has tested it.

I posted on another thread but I have tried both. I find the best combination is 1.5 System but with the 1.6 kernel. That's the smoothest combination for me.
