Still running..thats good I think this maybe not a timer bob.

It happened when I was in xbmc.
For the record :

I use xbmc hw accel buil 19/2 with hubwizard. Works great

Logcat I think will be no good as it is erased on a reboot!

If I keep seeing random shutdowns I am going to run a script that keeps writing logcat and dmesg to SDcard and see if I can find it.

FYI, when playing a video it does not shut down on me. Only when sitting there doing nothing does it do it AND NOT ALWAYS! Very strange. It's in the stock ROM too.
I am pretty sure it is related to a sleep timer or something like that and not power!

Agreed - me too! I recently watched Avatar (almost 3 hours) on Archos Video Player played via my NAS box - never shutdown. Pause / restarted several times - no issues & outstanding video quality.

Finally got mine, it was doa. I waited about 10 minutes twice but nothing but black picture. However i flashed this Rom without any problems.

My first observation was that netflix was working with latest version from playstore. About same piqture that i have on MK 802 III with finless rom, need to test it some more to be sure.

Archos Video Player gave me very good picture with 720p mkv and seems smooth. Avatar 1080p mkv had some frameskipping/stuttering but i need to test it more.

Both wifi and ethernet worked just fine. Had one freeze and had to reboot, also some strange problems with very bad piqture on swedish tv-apps but need to test some more, mabey my router giving me problems.

So far it is promising, thx alot for your work Finless Bob!

Flash CWM recovery image

Bob - if I extract recovery.img from the RK3188 CWM zip file can I use your Flashtool 1.37 to flash this recovery image to the recovery partition of my X7?

Will it work & give me CWM on my X7?

Just to confirm what others are saying, mine does not power down while watching movies and idle seems to be fine. Left it on this morning and went to work, came home and still on.

Messing around with it for an hour and it shut down while using ES to copy some files.

EDIT and again just now while exiting Archos app

Power Bug



Minix has confirmed that they have changed something with the bug in FW 0004 (on their forums), which will be released shortly. Hopefully it is fixed.

I think I found it KIND OF.

After a ROM flash if you do nothing eventually it powers itself off!
So I rebooted and did nothing. It still powered itself off.
Then I enabled wifi... It seemed to stop powering off!

So it appears if Wifi is on, it wont power off. Now to see what it does with wifi off but Ethernet on and connected.

Gonna try wifi OFF let you know if it powered off.

Yes. Since I only use wifi in my home, wifi is always on in my setup. And with the 1.4a rom installed, my system never seems to power off. I turn it off, by button, turn off my tv, and return an hour later, turn on the tv and there it is waiting... it was ON the whole time.
