    I don't know what this is? Can you give me some info?

    Also the release notes from Minix for their latest ROM says:
    4.) Added HDMI and SPDIF passthrough options;

    Is that the same thing?

    FYI you cannot remove the search bar just by removing the APK. You have to edit launcher2.apk which I have now done. Removed and no issues (as it is really there but not ).

      Agree that adding the stafstroms patch would be awesome, although I believe it also needs a custom version of XBMC as well ;-)
      I completely agree with you about the Minix remote, but my mouse remote doesn't have a menu button on it. Or at least I can't find it. So I keep the Minix remote handy for those rare occasions.

      In addition to turning off every notification that I can find... I use the old Windows rule, if I change just about anything in the system settings area, or install a new app (any kind)... I reboot. I have the reboot app nailed into the middle of my dock. I don't pull the plug, normally, but frequent reboots (manually done) are the old Windows rule -- my tech support (my son) always askes, "Dad, did you reboot"?? So it is ingrained by now. If I feel froggy, I reboot!

            The rk lib is towards the bottom of the post

            The only thing Minix had enabled is ac3 pass through and that's optical only, they won't enable any other type due to licensing issues

              Crap I don't have an account on the forum.

              Can someone supply the libmedia.so file please.

              Not to argue but the notes say this:

              Added HDMI and SPDIF passthrough options;

              Says HDMI? Maybe they added this libmedia.so?
              Once I get the patched one I will check myself and compare them.

                Maybe they did, but only in ac3 is no good

                  I think the random crashes are related to the Android notification system. Well, not all of them, maybe. But a lot of them. Remember from my previous messages here, I get very few to no random crashes. But I just had a doozy, I had to unplug my box to reset it. I broke 2 of my own rules: 1) I installed a new app and didn't reboot, and 2) I didn't turn off notifications for the new app (I am pretty sure that the app was trying to send me a welcome notification when the crash happened). Of course, after the cold boot, I immediately turned off notifications for that app!! All running smoothly again.

                    the only time i have crashes is when running spotify (which has its own notification area control widget) and i try to do something like load a game up, or try playing with that fancy widget app.

                    whether the notification spotify controller has anything to do with it, but its something to do with when spotify is up and running

                      So far in testing my 1.5 ROM I have not had a single power off event or crash.

                      New ROM is uploading now.

                          I think as other people have said it definitely seems like some kind of read/write issue, which could also tie into your notification theory. However none of my reboot have been when receiving notification they always seem to go through as they should for me, I don't use Spotify though.

                                When using a 1080 kernel and you want it to look like 720 with the right sized text and icons then you have to edit build.prop.

                                Edit this line:
                                ro.sf.lcd_density=160

                                change the 160 to 240 and reboot. You will now have everything larger!
