Bluetooth not working

Hello Finless Bob,

First off, thanks for the awsome ROM! Everything works great except for the Bluetooth, some message popping up all the time about the massstorage can be removed and the boot image (which is not a big deal but just would like to point it out).

When I bought the stick with the stock ROM I had no issues with the Bluetooth and was working fine with my BT keyboard and Logitech receiver that is hooked up to my speakers. Since I flashed this ROM with different kernels that were provided I can't pair any devices nomore.

What I do and what happens:
- Turn on the device (yeah no shit I really do this! )
- Go into settings
- Turn on Bluetooth (tried with both the On/Off switch and the tick box just to rule this out)
- Serach for devices
- Click on the device I want to pair to
! Now here is where it SOMETIMES goes wrong
- Device tries to pair but isntead turns off BT and turns it on again

! Other scenario from the explanation mark above
- CX-919 asks me to put in a 4 or 6 digit code and hit enter on the keyboard
- Screen with the above freezes for a bit after I hit enter (normally would get rid of that screen right away)
- Device tries to pair but isntead turns off BT and turns it on again

Now I can change the devices name before I do all of these steps (default name is rk30sdk). It changes the name accordingly but when I perform the above steps and the device shuts off the BT and turns it on again it alsow resets the devices name back to the default rk30sdk name.

Is no one else experiencing this problem or is just no one else using BT devices? Couldn't find anything about it in this thread.

Than there is this little thing where the device keeps saying that I can remove the mass storage or something but I can't reproduce that at this very moment so that is either solved by itself or will come up later so don't worry about that.

About the boot image: flashed 1080p kernel and the 1080p image. Shows up the correct size the first 2 seconds or sow but gets smaller after that. Doesn't affect anything just wanted to put it out here.

After all my 'complaining' I would like to state that the rest I tried like ethernet and the off switch in the bar work AWSOME :-)!

Best regards from the Netherlands,

BRamBoNL

it blows upward

but, in any case - good idea!
I didn't change the flow. But it's blowing upward.
However I did encountered 2 freezes since then. Not sure it's heat related as the stick wasn't hot at all.

720P may be more stable than 1080P

thanks
If you don't care about 1080P then Finless 1.5 720P is pretty stable. If you want to try 1080P use a cooler fan to cool your CX-919 down. As far as which kernel to use, I like the 800Mhz one.

Adding a heat sink on top of it

So I use the dual cooling fan to cool it down. (see photo)
CX-919 simply sits on top of the dual cooling fans (used to be the cooling fans for the hard disk)
So far it is doing a great job. I did not have the gut to cut the plastic cover to install the heat sink as others suggested.
I found an old heat sink on an older motherboard. Put it on top of it. Have not seen any freeze since.Click image for larger version

Nice rig haha. I have one cool block laying around so could do this but before I reflash and have to install everything again I would like to know if this 1080p 800MHz kernel has Bluetooth working or that the Buetooth problem is not kernel related but ROM related (which I believe it is ROM related unfortunatly...)

Bluetooth doesn't work on 800 mhz 1080p

Couldn't enable it. But I am not using it. I use dla, bubbleUpnp, and rkremotecontrol.

actually it's working (strange thing earlier it refused to enable itself)

It's working. I will check more to see if I can upload or download any file.

Thanks anyway.

Thanks for trying! Going to flash that kernel and see if that all works for me.

EDIT:
So I tried flashing the 1080p kernel with 800MHz. Bluetooth seems to be a bit more stable than on the Simon 1080p kernel but not as it should be. I could connect to my Logitech device that is connected to my speakers and play sound but I could still not connect to my keyboard. Well I could pair my keyboard but it just would not connect after I paired it, kinda weird...

Some other thing is that changing the language from the standard English to Dutch seemed to give some extra problems. When I was in English the Bluetooth worked as described above. Changing the language to Dutch would screw it up even further and nothing in the Bluetooth would work anymore. Seems language dependent for atleast what I tried so far and believe me I checked it several times switching between the languages. Goint to try this when switched back to the Simon 1080p kernel once more.

Besides, XBMC stutters on that kernel and I don't like using the XAF build with MXplayer although it solves the stutter problem in XBMC. My girlfriend doesn't like movies without Dutch subtitels so using the built in XBMC subtitle program is awsome, with MX player I think MIGHT be able to have subs but if it will work with a movie from XBMC (which I seriously doubt) it is such a hassle.

Going back to the Sam 1080p kernel AGAIN (I reflashed for 10 times at least with 1.5 haha) to get a nice XBMC experience with Dutch subs.

Would be realy nice if Finless could see if he could fix this.
