I tried it on a t-r42 (same ethernet chip) and could not get internet connection to download desktop packages so gave up on it.
    Thanks.
    Generally it works
ping within the lan ~0.3ms (same switch)
    ping www.google.de ~80ms

Configured via Ubuntu -> "Edit Connections..." -> "Network Connections" -> "Wired" ....

If there is an easy way to test performance inside my LAN (rk3188 <-> XP-pc) I will do it...

      Please share!

Oh, no no, sorry, it is a misunderstanding, I have a K-r42 (old rev)...
I thought you need perhaps some dmsg or so on...

Both boxes use the same ethernet chip (RTL8201F) or so I believe .

If you have working ethernet and Ubuntu (or other Linux) on a K-r42 then the kernel used would be of great interest to me. Which source and config did you (I assume) compile it from?

Are you running Linux from nand or sd card?

Yes but not at every box it works (depands on pcb version)... don't ask me why... I think it's same with wasser's kernels for old and new rev...

                          Hi,

at the "dx05_sd_linux_1.1.0_modules.tgz" I see, that there is only "3.0.36+\kernel\drivers\net\wireless\rtl8188eu ". Does this mean:
1.) If I want to use WiFi I have first to "install" the driver(KernelObject)? And if yes, from witch medium, because no vfat(fat32) and ntfs support at that moment?
2.) Is there only rtl8188eu chipset support or for the rtl8188etv too?
3.) Is it possible to use other ko too, perhaps for AP6210 or RTL8723AS chipset?

                          Greetings

                          EDIT:
think perhaps I found out the answer for 1.) by my self => "/lib/modules/8188eu.ko" already exists, but why to you have the "3.0.36+/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rtl8188eu/8188eu.ko" in your bundle too?

You found answer and still ask
It is there to allow you to connect to internet and download whole modules package. I personaly have several linux computers so never considered missing ntfs or fat as problem

Unfortunately this kernel doesn't allow you to compile many wireless drivers (because they conflict with each other) - the way to do it is to compile kernel many times, enabling modules 1 by one ... I didn't d it, but that is why i provide config - if you need any other driver(module) - re-compile kernel with it.

This driver (8188.ko) is for devices with id 0BDA:8179 and 0BDA:0179.
You can see what your device id is with lsusb command:
                            " Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0bda:0179 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. "
and you can see which devices a driver (module) supports with modinfo:
                            modinfo 8188eu

                            ...
                            alias: usb:v0BDAp8179d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip*
                            alias: usb:v0BDAp0179d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip*

                            ...

If you want to compile AP6210, you need to find working kernel source for it, as one I use, don't have this driver. After that it is easy - configure kernel include this driver, re-compile, re-create image, re-flash it, re-install modules and reboot

                              THX

I'm only a little bit confused, why the driver for the "rtl8188eu" exist at the modules package too, but it seem so, you thought "better too much then too little" ...

No, I don't need the "AP6210", I'm only asking because of interesting in... I see the other drivers at the "/lib/modules/" so I thought perhaps there isn't a problem at your kernel, but thanks for your explanation...

I'm so happy, that your kernel is "plug and play" instead of "plug and pray" at my device...

Compared to my knowing about "error-soft" (micro-soft) I'm a really newbie at linux...

Ok I understand you can't sleep until you figure it out , so there is clarification:
File you see in /lib/modules came from rootfs pakage e.g Linuxium's ubuntu or whatever you use as rootfs
the file in /lib/modules/3.0.36+/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rtl8188eu comes from my package. These might be same maybe not. I recommend using one in /lib/modules/3.0.36+/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rtl8188eu, as it is for sure comes from same kernel source as kernel.
