MK 908-II in the house! WOW something has changed for the better!

Just got my MK 908-II with external antenna today.
Thanks to Geekbuying for sending it to me.

Now to paly with this thing and see if I can do something good to it

HEY! Frame skipping is fixed!

OK this is the first stock ROM I have seen that does not have the micro frame skipping issue!

So either RockChip has fixed this and supplied it to Tronsmart, or Tronsmart implemented one of the kernel fixes by the Dev's here!

Now I need to test that problematic 24P video everyone uses to test. I cant find it now so if someone has a link please post it again.

The Hobbit video that people use to complain about frame skipping.......
In my opinion this still skips on the map scene. But so does my Windows box exactly the same way!
I do not think this is a valid test. Sorry I just do not! My high end $1,500 PC cant play this without skipping either! So why expect a <$100 stick to do it? I seriously am tired of chasing that video and the problems it presents!

Anyway this stock ROM is bloated to hell! So for sure needs some work there.
Video to me plays the best I have seen yet from a 4.2.2 stock ROM. So it appears RockChip has listened and Tronsmart has put whatever fix in this ROM.

Now to test other things like BT and WIFI.

Stay tuned... but right now other than the bloatware, this is looking like a pretty damn good device even stock! Minix might want to watch out here...

it is of course too early, but what I'm interesting in is, how fast, stable and cool or hot is this device under stress/time compared to MK908 (v1&v3)...

That they learn to build a stable image, should actually be a matter of course

I`m glad that you finally have in your "custody" MK908II and I hope that you can make a great custom rom for it especially that has 3 "problems":
1.When i`m watching a 1080p movie the faces of the actors became choppy or in other words the pixels are more than visible but after 2-3 second is back to normal (i hope that you will understand what i`m trying to say, english its not my primary language and its hard to me to find the right words..)
2.When i`m trying to watch online tv from an app installed from Google Play and of course after installing mx player and sopcast and seems that on every channel I tried to watch have some audio sync problems
3.When watching a movie from my pc through XBMC with wifi connection doesnt run smoothly, runs with lag.
I hope that this info will help you and maybe you will find a fix for them.

I get same random crashes and it have some usles apps.
The update come with 1080p kernel inside boot.img
I will be makeing a rom for it to, but my firmwares are quite difrent than yours so users will have a choice

I think that's lewy20041 first MK908 device

So, at that moment, 2 ROM Developers have this explicit device, that's great !!

And hopefully some kernel developers get it too (perhaps in the next time) !!

That make it easier to me to order in china (generally first try) this device

The wifi signal is ok and i didnt got a single disconnect and i dont know what to say about the Netflix because in my country is not available.

Lewy. I have not had a single crash yet with the stock ROM

Maybe your having a power issue?

Again I am not saying the stock ROM is great. It's just the ONLY stock ROM I have seen with frame skipping fixed out of the box. I am going to investigate if it is kernel or something in system.

Guys I will test Netflix, etc.

As there a good small 1080p video I can download to test 1080? All my movies are 720p.

FYI Netflix works for me but while skipping around in a movie timeline, I got one crash.

I will now test Skype and my C270 camera.

Skype works perfect with my C270 camera.

Gameloft games do not work and the ROM needs the gameloft patch.

Antutu 4.0.1 score is 17702 and was stable with no crashes.

OK so I dumped my stock ROM of 8/15 kernel #60.
I flashed the latest ROM 8/26 kernel #72 and will do some more testing on that.
If it is unstable at least I have the old ROM that is stable. We shall see.
