Hi x1hain I've tried a lot to fix the mute button but without success. I've installed a lot of ROM's but none made it work. So I don't know how to fix it, if someone can share that knowledge or point me a ROM that have it working, I'll try to fix it.

I found the issue with mute button not properly working. You must use my mod, but it may break leanback launcher from being locked as default. Though it will break play store. Easy fix to use phone / tablet play store instead. Just down load the latest play store and play services, add my mod, reboot, uninstall play store updates and play services updates, side load regular versions to update, and your good to go. All apps should function as before. Just picture in picture will be very small and hardly useable.

Works perfectly on my H96 Pro Plus, which always had mute issues with custom ATV firmwares.

Yep, it will work on all firmwares, as it does not change system firmware, just changes how the system sees the device and it's permissions. The only drawback is Leanback launcher is no longer stuck as default, and ATV playstore and play services are replaced with phone Play store and play services. Think of the firmware as ATV with everything.

SUSKY you have always to disable automatic updates of Google Play and make sure the Youtube App does not update. If it updates you have to uninstall any updates for Youtube to work properly. While Google does not fix it, unfortunately is the best solution. I consider version 2.02.14 stable and it's the one included in v1.04. Please recheck the version and tell me if the problem persists.

Ah, that will work just fine for button remapping... just thought if others were experiencing mute and volume controls reacting to two signals, instead of one per button press. Which was my issue with ATV on my box.

That's exactly the issue. If I remap the remote 113 code to for instance "FOCUS" it will work. So the ATV box receives somehow twice the same code 113. I've tried to remap it only in the KL files without any luck. I thank you for sharing your solution but for now I will try not to remake all the ROM since it's an huge change.

You can test your current ROM by doing a simple test. It shouldn't take much effort.

I found the issue with our boxes is with leanback play services, functions and permissions being used or unused.

Test with my tablet permissions file and phone play services with phone play store in place instead of TV permissions file and ATV play store and ATV services.

nothing else needs to be done... The only issue i see is the stock (white) settings. It will fc when used. All other tv settings and DROID settings function without issues. If you can find a settings.apk or correct the settings.apk fc issue, nothing needs to be redone. All ATV and phone apps function, and leanback launcher can operate, you won't see until you try it.

My reply got locked, but until it is unlocked by a mod, you can do this mod, that I found previously.

I explained in my locked reply... ATV Play services is the cause for remote audio buttons issues.

you can edit the play store play services not to do system updates. I think one option is to setup data restriction and setup play services as restricted. It will need data restriction set all the time. Once set, replace ATV play services with phone play services. No need to reboot if side loading. A side load will install as long as the phone play services is newer than the ATV version. Once installed, everything should function without any issues. Just you have to keep track of play services and manually update when needed.

X92-2GB if I understood all right, I did what you pointed and I have Phone Play Services but the issue with the mute button persists. I've used a beta version from Apkmirror that is way newer than any available in the Play Store. I've also tried to add the tweaked permissions file from your post and no luck.

Yes it is possible, but you have to have root and disable Leanback or remove it, there are risks but it should work. I've installed Microsoft launcher just to check it, the biggest challenge is to make it as the default launcher, because Leanback takes over. But I like too much all the ATV interface, so this ROM will always have it.
