DepositFiles provides you with a legitimate technical solution, which enables you to upload, store, access and download text, software, scripts, images, sounds, videos, animations and any other materials in form of one or several electronic files.

    Installing the rom
The rom must be installed from CWM Recovery.

    1. Unzip the CWM Recovery file and copy update.zip to your SDCard as well as the rom in zip format.
    2. Insert SDCard into MK808/B and after Android boots up, you will get a popup that an update has been found. Install the update. The system will reboot to recovery to install CWM. Reboot the system.
    3. Install a reboot app to your device. Choose reboot to recovery. You are now booted to CWM recovery.
Choose wipe Data, cache & dalvik-cache. Choose Install zip from SDCard -> Choose zip from external SDCard -> Specify the firmware file & click 'Yes'. Reboot the system.
You can also use a terminal app & type 'su', then 'reboot recovery' to do the same as above.

PS: Older CWM Recovery's won't work properly as your keyboard & input devices won't work.
Plug input devices directly into the usb port instead of a usb hub otherwise it won't work.
For best performance use a 1080p monitor as 720p monitors don't display CWM Recovery correctly.

Modded XBMC - http://tv.100dola.eu/xbmc/mod/ from freaktab user curlyboi
(hardpacked advancedsettings.xml for HW acceleration & hides all 'view sidemenus')

Bootanimation - See here http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...d=15#post88783 to create your own bootanimation.

    Other devices(MK808 & Clones)
For users that want to use the rom on a MK808, you have to flash a MK808 kernel with
    RKAndroidTool v1.37 afterwards.
There are a lot of 'clone' devices being sold right now. To use the rom on a 'clone' device, you can try to flash one of the kernels included in Finless Bob's roms here.
Lots of devices being sold on **** right now are Cozyswan 'clone' devices. See here for the stock rom. You will need to extract the kernel with the tool posted here http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...Firmware-Tools, also try to extract the system.img file as the bluetooth drivers are mostly located in system/etc and post it here so that we know what Bluetooth the 'clone' devices have. If you have a CozySwan device, only wifi will work with a stock kernel, because the Bluetooth files are included in the stock firmware. This rom is only compatible with RK901 & RK903 Wifi/Bluetooth Combo. If someone copies the stock firmware Bluetooth files from Realtek/Mediatek into system/etc they might be able to get Bluetooth working on a 'clone' device by 'insmod' the drivers.

That is really great. I have an mk808 and my question are:

To install CWM on Mk808 can i use the zip you've posted here?

I can use 2dark4u 1.4 kernel with this rom? What are the steps to flash kernel with Rkandroid Tool....for 2dark4u i use Bob rom flash tool.

With this rom my webcam c170 will work?

Thank you mo123.....let's make this device rocks.

I found a compatibility chart on 4pda showing that your webcam should work with the MK808 ---> https://docs.google.com/document/pub...gwYGBF6dhMGCIc

As far as whether or not it will work with this ROM specifically, I can't be positive.

CWM will work on all RK3066 devices.
Untick everything except kernel in RKandroid Tool, and select the 2dark4u kernel. Click Flash.
Webcam support depends on the kernel used and if the manufacturer made it compatible with Android.

            Hi,

I am on Finless 2.1 rom and original 808B. I previously tried to flash MK808B_digitopMod_v2.1_WALKMAN.zip could not boot. Had to unbrick via pin method.

I assume it was a kernel issue. What 720p kernel should I use on this? And when to flash it - before or after rom? Thank you!

EDIT: Also what parameter should be used on the finless so this will not go bad? I think I am on 1GB parameter.

If you follow the instructions in the OP you will be fine.
You need a MK808B with a rom already installed, the device gets flashed through recovery and not a PC.
If you have a 'clone' device you have to flash a different kernel after the rom flash, see OP.
Any Android 4.1.1, 3.0.8 kernel should work including 2Dark4u(no wifi & bt). Kernel must be smaller than 9mb approximately. You can flash it through Windows but only advanced users will get it working.

Ethernet is dependent on the kernel you use. It should work, otherwise there are lots of ethernet drivers you can install afterwards with *.ko files.
I also heard levy20041 is going to release a new rom next week for MK808/B, so everyone might have to flash again if that rom has better features.

                      Hi

I have flashed recovery using the batch tool method as well as update.zip method but on reboot to recovery i get no display on the tv. when i remove the power and put it back in the device boots into normal rom.

im using lewy20041's 2.2.4 right now. any ideas guys?

                      -----------------------------------------------------

got it to work after reverting to finless 2.1

                          Great Rom - thanks mo123

Installed this rom on my MK808B.... really nice, great work!
Have got everything working. I "only" got 12050 antutu score, but it seems very smooth.
The modded XBMC from the link in OP didn't work well for me (kept crashing on video start), but latest stable XAF version runs very well.
My VPN app did not work, until I found a free app in Playstore which installs tun.ko automatically. Now that works as well.
Definitely going to keep this rom (and kernel) on the stick.

The latest nightly xbmc doesn't require advancedsetting.xml anymore, so no need to install the modded xbmc anymore.

Good ROM but unfortunately not perfect yet

I used this ROM for a while and most of it works fine, although I had to make some changes. I used a compressed TAR archive (.tgz) to save the XBMC userdata but couldn't restore it because the busybox version on the ROM did not support it, I replaced busybox with a new version from the official busybox site.

The XBMC hw acceleration test version from February 19, 2013 ran fine. I do not use the current Gotham nightlies because a lot off add ons like youtube and icefilms give python script errors and do not work (if others do not have this it could be my regional settings, I have not found a solution yet).

The only application which broke was an app from the dutch plublic broadcasting organisation (NOS), an app to view past transmissions. This is a video streaming service. It only plays with a lot of hickups making it unwatchable. Changing the kernel to Finless 1.7 did not help. Changing the ROM back to Finless 1.7 solved the problem, this is a dealbreaker for this ROM for me.

About the Antutu score, I now have 12000+ points in Finless 1.7 too; either Antutu changed the calculation or installing your ROM inbetween also made some permanent change. (My Finless 1.7 is patched using a newer libstagefright.so library).

P.S. I am using an MK808B stick and WiFi. If the streaming problem and busybox is fixed, this is a better and nicer looking ROM IMHO.
