I'm a really happy camper, but this rocketship, mothethugger of a mousepointer must be a joke.

Copy the file
system/framework/framework_res.apk
to your pc

Open it with 7zip and replace the file
res/drawable_mdpi/pointer_arrow.png
with the mousepointer you like.

Replace the old file using a root filemanager and give correct permissions and set owner to 0:root

Reboot

Thanks Bob, tried that version but it's not working for me. When I try to play a video it says something like "Video is not available" (that for the ad's), and then when it should start the movie it just give's you an error and goes back to main menu.

Maybe something is wrong with my flashing process ? Cause it have buffer problems with some kind of videos (IMDB is buffering most of the time, sometimes youtube does the same) while Netflix works like a charm....

What do u think ?

Hi there Finless, thanks for the great ROM! Hope your new SSD is working.

I want to ask you about the following:

I'm using a Dutch app that alows me to either stream national Dutch channels online, or watch programs I've missed. It looks really good, but for some reason the stream hangs after about a minute of play (with every video). This also happens with another app I use, provided by my tv provider. It doesn't happen with Netflix, or other videoplayers I use either on my LAN or online. It also doesn't happen on my tablet and phone, using the same apps.

Could you have a look and see if this also happens to you? I'm afraid the content might only be accessible in The Netherlands, but if you (or somebody) is able to have a look, that would be great!

Perhaps this is bs, but is it possible that perhaps the app or the provider(s) recognize that it's being used on a large screen and therefor the the stream gets stopped? If so, is there a possibility to prevent the provider or the app from doing this?

It pauses every 10 seconds, and then buffers the full video, then it continues playing for ten seconds, but looses the buffer, and restarts the buffering. This problem is also occurs with online flash video, but not with youtube.

I use the stock ROM, however the older version. When I'll have some time to update it to the newest firmware, I will. The newest firmware has fixed some video issues, so I hope thay fixed this as well. But I hope Finless will look to this problem as well.

I will call upon you to make a donation to Finless so he can fix his hardware problems, and get some reward for making these ROM's.

Tried every version out there (also the newest realease from Geekbuying), but the issue remains. I've tried both wireless and ethernet connection, but also to no avail. The thing is that this doesn't happen on my older MK808 (original) stick, using Finless ROM 1.7. Therefor I think that it's either a hardware or a kernel issue.

@Finless: Great news that you're making a new ROM, thank you for that! Perhaps you can have a look at what differences there may be between the two ROM's regarding buffering or GPU or something. When I turn on hardware acceleration in the NPO app (referred to in earlier posts), the issue becomes even worse.

I use solid explorer, it is not free, but it is definitely the best file explorer out there and worth every penny... root explorer will do as well, or if you want a free alternative es fileexplorer is good as well.
