Thank you so much , I bought the Mecool M8S PRO W 2.4G with Andriod TV and it didnt come with ATV like in the title I think ATV version come if bought with Voice Control ?

So I tried flashing the other custom ATV roms and have done in the past no issues but this Mecool M8S PRO W 2.4G with Andriod TV must be new revision and just made the box have blank screen and tried trying other roms using USB burning nothing worked

but came here and got the box working again and running ATV very happy and thank you again

I'm glad I helped. Initially I thought it would only help users who own an M8S Plus W, because the firmware of this device itself is not bad, but the Launcher and the apps that are part of the interface are horrible ... So I decided to read the texts of the topic ATV to the M8S Pro W, do the reverse. So if it's possible to turn an M8S Pro W into an M8S Plus W, it means there's bootloader compatibility. When I went to run I came across a mistake that you also received. So I decided to do the tutorial.

After reboot I can see launcher for 2 seconds then this screen appears. Seems like device is supposed to be activated...?

I got the same problem as you after i could flash this rom: M8S_PLUS_W 20180622.img with USB Tool.

the launchers shows also 2 seconds then comes the chinese menu, i tried also to insert the barcode 211...but did not resolve.
I also pressed the home button, but home screen did not appear, stays on chinese menus

Hi, just press the button home on remote control to go to the main screen. After that go to apps.

I got the same problem as soldiaz witht the chinese menu, tried to press the home button with remote control, but nothing happens? what can i do? I tried with original remote and also with other remote (iPazz) chinese menu stays, can not get the home launcher

I don?t know how, but with my iPass remote i got back to homeScreen, installed Nova Launcher Prime which i have on all other devices and Titatnium Backup Pro. I found out that the BoxFactoryTest 2.2.release was responsable that on starting always the chinese menus opened. So i freezed this app with Titanium Pro and now never again it happened.

My problem now is, that the wifi connection is so slow and i dont know why, I only have about 3 MB/s and should be minimum 25 MB/s or more as my other devices S905w.
the router is very close to the box (50cm).
What can i do to improve the wifi speed???

Apparently you installed the M8S Plus W firmware but did not reinstall the M8S Pro W ATV firmware (which is explained in this post) again. With regard to wi-fi this may be a limitation of the firmware or perhaps the location of your device. However I have always faced these problems with my Mecool devices, sometimes they can pull the full potential of my franchise, but sometimes not. Do not expect performance like a Mibox in those wandering boxes.

Dear guys, feel happy that I am not the only one whos got problems with that shit chinese menu which appears aftter FLASHING....I translated chinese menu using google translator. You MUST enter a barcode...after opening the box there is a barcode on the mainboard!!! I will try that numbers later...maybe after entering those box boots up normally. In case it is like tombraga says: BoxFactoryTest 2.2 which is responisble, is there any way how to delete this crap trhough flashing zip? Maybe somone can supply a flashable zip?

I had to flash image through burning tool since I started box while pushing reset button (I wanted to boot into recovery), but after trying this box did not start anymore.....

Hi, if your goal in this tutorial is to recover your M8S Pro W with the M8S Plus W firmware and then revert. Keep reading.

It is important to highlight some points about the M8S Plus W and its firmware that you may not know, for example:

1. Keep in mind that when installing the M8S Plus W firmware on your M8S Pro W, some things will work differently.
2. There is no reset button on the M8S Plus W, to access the Recovery Mode, restart the device and press the Menu button continuously.
3. The default firmware is rubbish, you can not stay in it without making any changes. Have a MicroSD with a copy of Es File Explore.
4. If the Chinese menu appears when you start the device, access Recovery Mode and make Wipe Data Factory and Wipe Cache.

Well I think this, and try to keep focus of the doubts about the transition from M8S Plus W Firmware to the M8S Pro W Firmware.

Please note my previous post to this one. It should not be a difficult thing to solve. Access Recovery Mode and make Wipe Cache. Use only the default control at boot time.

let me understand you better You bought an M8S Plus W. Okay? For some reason you came here, could you explain if it was just to turn the M8S Plus W into an Android TV device or had another reason?

I noticed that you were one of the first to arrive here in the post, it which partially answers the first question. Ever tried Wipe Data Factory? This happened to my device, one time only.

I can not remember what I did exactly, but I think it was Wipe Data Factory by Recovery Mode. I have detailed in a post above how I can access the Recovery Mode, so just look up.

Can confirm that pressing Home Button before Chinese screen appears solves the issue. Then I did factory reset. Normal bootup since then but slow.....
