NEOMODE HYBRID ROM 1.7 - MK802IV, UG007B, CX-919, MK809III and others with AP6210

Don't get me wrong, I've got an HTC Desire HD(I've backed up the original rom) and I've played since I got it(Jan 2012), currently I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1 unofficial (android version 4.2.2) and everything works as expected even if HTC drop us at version 2.3.7 .

I'm testing from time to time different roms and I might flash up to 5 roms per week, but there I've got 4EXT Recovery and a bunch of other apps to help me change kernels, while my Cozyswan S400 is just that. No recovery support(although I've seen some mods of CWM trying to make it work with S400) and no way to properly backup my original rom. I've got no issue but the video play frame skip, everything works as expected including wifi, flash video buffering etc. Wifi speeds are fast and the overall experience is good(I believe a proper kernel would avoid flashing roms but again still no apps to support the stick).

I've written my specs of the S400 in some other topic but I can copy the specs:

So with what rom felt almost perfect? (I think I'll flash it anyway)..and if I need warranty I'll throw it in the garbage and put a proper HTPC :P because I don't see anyone capable of helping me to get a backup(..or it's too hard so no one is bothering heh)

You have right,
CWM recovery and EXT4 is something what every single device should have.

It should be password protected as well as an optional boot password protection without bypass(for security reasons, only with full format-erase everything the phone could be useful again. But you are right it should be right off the factory any recovery method..just to have one. I've read somewhere soon, that cyanogenmod is trying to promote it's roms and soon we will see some companies release their phones with cyanogenmod as original rom! that would be awesome..

Newest Netflix 3.0.2 (released 31.Oct.2013) works Flawlessly with CX-919 and Neomode 1.7 ROM!!

As I already mentioned, I have been using this ROM 1.7 without problems, but today decided to test the latest Netflix v3.0 released today at the Google-Play-Store, and have noted that this APP works but have serious problems wile buffering...

Sometime works for 30 minutes without problems, but after that it frezee and never plays again.

After it freeze, I have try to erase cache and date, and all the cleaning procedures to the APP, but the Netflix APP never play any movie again until I Reset and Restart my CX-919...

That some user are having apparently similar problems, so I would greatly appreciate if you could test and help us with this situation, because it seams that it is a buffering or memory problem I thing...

I through everyone might like to know, that after installed the most recent Netflix version 3.0.2 (released 31.Oct.2013), I am watching all the movies without any problems!!


So something has been corrected or the buffering method have changed, because now the Netflix APP works flawlessly without blocking the system!!


I am using Neomodes 1.7 in my CX-919 TV stick and installed the most recent Netflix version, and don't need the Xposed Netflix Fix anymore:

Don't use any other old version, all of them have the same buffering problems, and you will have to use the Xposed Netflix Fix.

Mate how did you do it with your S400? I've thought what the heck lets to it even without backup, so I took my S400 I have it next to me(without the power supply). Connect it to my computer(side port micro usb) it lits up the red led and I pressed the reset button - nothing happens, nothing at all.

I even try to use the reset button when I connect it to the tv(and powered it up).. nothing happens, it boots normally there. So how in the world did you do it?

EDIT: I tried a few times but didn't seem to work so I pressed the reset button and hold it there ..then powered up the stick via the side port micro usb(OTG) and boom!! it worked - so everything should go as planned I guess ..we will see

EDIT2: I've tried the rom and all I can say I'm impressed, videos are way more smooth although I tested 1080p videos and they need just a tiny fix..most of the times it's smooth as butter but in some fast scenes it's not perfect, but on the other hand AFAIK this is an 720p rom - Can't wait for the 1080p rom to pop out

EDIT3: I tried also the MK802IV FW(131017) rom and it sucks, Neomode's Hybrid Rom 1.7 is way much better - btw the MK802IV FW(131017) make me feel like I was using my stock rom (although I really like their update app, it was better :P)

i had that problem with my mk809iii, but solved after finding a full .img file to flash with RK batch tool (not RKandroidtool)...

My QC802 very often...

For example, yesterday:

• open youtube app -> crash to desktop
• reopen, search a video, start the video ->crash to desktop
• reopen, same video, start, video starting -> after few second reboot
• after reboot, open youtube, same video -> start. Video starting correct.

After few minutes crash to desktop.

Reopen again and finally 45 minutes without problems.
Is very annoying .

I use a 5V/3A power supply.

You can try to flash the 1.5 rom(you won't have wifi working) try if it works for you(if it crashes), then try reflashing 1.7 back and check it out again(I'll suggest to re-download it in case you have a currupted rom).

P.S. If problems exist in 1.5, maybe it's your stick or your power supply - we'll see about that after these tests. Although I know some stuff thanks to my HTC Desire HD, I'm a bit noob when it comes to these Chinese andoid sticks.
