Real Racing 3
OK Devil, I just found this game on Google Play store - it is telling me it is NOT COMPATIBLE with any of my devices - that's a Galaxy Note, this PipoM9 Pro and a generic android 4.1.2 tablet. I also found a few add on apps that tweak the graphics and there are MANY reviews complaining that the game doesn't work on their devices. SO...........Check again with the app supplier (the developers EA Swiss sarl) before complaining again on this site. go back to playing it on your phone. As I suggested in an earlier post - try something else. I was actually going to give it a try in an attempt to help you out but cannot - you have time to play games, so use the time to do some of your own research!!!!!

Even if antutu scores almost 19000 points, the system is extremely low in performance, slow, stuttering and slow motion even in android home screens without any animation... not to talk about games, real racing 3 goes faster on my 5000 point antutu score mobile device...
any suggestion?
Does your 5000 point antutu score mobile device have the SAME resolution / pixel density? It's not fair to compare another device with less than 1920x1200. Most 'well written' APPs will "try to" scale up when it encounters better specs. The additional pixels will 'stress' the entire system.

boot animations ?
Not good reviews on the play store for that app Kastrupand it looks like you have to pay for animations - why not donate to Randy and get his one working instead!? I actually found some simply by googling bootanimation free download - and it was not exactly difficult to change the file the one time I bothered. I personally can't see the point of all this boot animation when it only gets seen if you need to reboot (which I do as little as possible myself - and when I do I don't exactly stare at the screen - do you??) (yes, OK I do when I'm testing something, but really guys, do we spend our lives watching boot screen animations???)

You don't have to pay for the free ones... and others reviews are not a reason for not trying it on YOUR device...
However I used it for testing purposes with 1.9/T1 in order to eliminate the problem (then), using my own animation file (an option in the app).
Naturally Randy should do his but for those who still struggle with any issues caused by the bootanimation it may be a easy temporary help.

No problem at all with 1.9test2 (great job !)... and I installed the Apex launcher has inspired me another member.
Just a little thing pretty annoying and must be resolved : when I reboot my wifi is not active.
I can make it immediately with the parameters/settings but I would like it to be from the boot and alone ...
Is there a solution?
Excuse me for my poor english writing...I cna tpye 300 wrods pre mintue !!!

battery drain
Hi,
I’ve switched from 1.8 to v1.9Test2 and it’s working fine for my M9Pro-3G. All functions availablegreat work!
Since the basics are working, I’m now looking for details: I’ve got a battery drain issue. The device doesn’t seem to got to deep sleep.
I’m using BetterBatteryStats to track down the problem. It identifies “ril-rk29-dataonly” as issuer for 90,7% of all kernel wakelocks. The same problem seems to be with the Kasty rom (forumlink #10) but not with the stock rom. Couldn’t find any hint by now. Only some Chinese and Russian forums posting about the same problem (I love Google-Translate), but without any ideas on how to solve the problem.
Are there only a few like me how are having this type of problem?
Any Ideas what’s behind “ril-rk29-data only”?

Riley 1.9 Test2 progress
Hi,
In the meanwhile i succesfully flashed to Riley's 1.9 Test2.
Pretty slick as i would say. I've only got 2 things:
- Cannot get my 3G working. No 3G button and no succes in getting a contact with my provider
(T-Mobile NL). Only with my WIFI on, the 3G connection seems working.
- Had 2 spontanious resets in 6 hours. After reset no WiFi would start till i rebooted my M9pro myself.
Further testing and waitin for more....
Gr. Pete

With that said, know that the rom is stable, I can also start looking at the battery stats.
Like you, I noticed that there seemed to be excessive battery drain. And using CPU Spy I can confirm my M9 also rarely goes in to Deep Sleep. (see picture below)
I will need to run the BetterBatteryStats app to see if I observe the same wakelock culprit.

Look under Settings> Mobile Networks for the 3G options.
I've also read that some people have had success with 3G by Disabling Wifi, inserting sim and then reboot.
YMMV
I'm looking forward to getting the FREE T-Mobile data sim they are offering so I can test it out on my side.

Battery drain ?s
GulShiraz's post got me curious so I did a little searching, but I don't know how to quantify excessive battery drain. I'd be interested in anything I could do (including UNDERclocking) to extend the life, but my use isn't all that heavy - as others might be. I have only had it disconnected from the charger for 58 minutes, but the battery is 97%. There has been a lot of time in video off sleep, but that doesn't get included as CPU Spy deep sleep. Mine shows 27 hours total, 17 hr 312 MHz, 7 hr Deep Sleep, 2.5 hr 816 MHz ... and Deep Sleep isn't "growing".
Anyhow, my search for ril-rk29-dataonly produced a lot of references to incoming calls, disconnect, ... and the posts here seem to be3G. I'm WiFi only and the only things I find in MY build.prop when searching for dataonly or ril are:
#rild.libpath=/system/lib/libreference-ril.so
#rild.libargs=-d /dev/ttyUSB2
ro.ril.ecclist=112,911
ril.function.dataonly=0
But some website's build.prop post contains these:
#rild.libpath=/system/lib/libreference-ril.so
#rild.libargs=-d /dev/ttyUSB2
rild.libargs=-d_/dev/ttyUSB1
ril.pppchannel=/dev/ttyUSB2
rild.libpath=/system/lib/libril-rk29-dataonly.so
ril.function.dataonly=1
ro.ril.power_collapse=1
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
My GUESS is that eventhough I seem to have a daemon process running named
/system/bin/rild
that my WiFi version isn't exercising it much. It MIGHT be worth disabling 3G, reboot, and see how much the battery goes down / hour compared to present discharge rate.

I've found out that the battery drain issue is definitely in the kernel. There are voltage problems when the deep sleep is activated that causes the tablet to shut down, so Pipo has disabled this until they get a solution....so it isn't something I've been doing.
Our kernel guys are working on a solution on our end.
The good news is there is a possibility of custom overclocked kernels with some other tweaks available soon. In fact, I may go ahead an include an optional overclocked kernel in the next ROM.
Stay tuned!!!!!!!Randy
