Power button OK Now

The good news is that the power button now works again, so I guess the bootanimation thing fixed it - the boot screen is now in the middle of the screen at about 50% size, but do we care?? WiFi straight in with no problems, BT no problem - I had to go to my office to load as I left the cable there, so I will now go back home and check it all properly, but its looking good so far! Pipo launcher and kids corner also working OK - but all the apps have gone, so we will have to learn how the launcher works!! (NOT a problem to me) If others could now go ahead and flash this to try I think Randy will pleased with the feedback this time! and get your donations in so he can buy this great tablet on Monday! Will come back later today with a full report - need to go do some gardening now! Well Done Randy and others who worked out the bootanimation thing (I would never have thought of that!)

Hey Mattie, did you have any problems with this? did your pc talk to the tablet ok? I would like to try this on stock ROM but i already have one pc that i messed up the drivers. Don't want to do it again or i won't be able to flash anything! Hopefully the rkbatchtool drivers are enough? If you could let me know that would be great. Thanks.

tried the 1.9beta2. install smooth and immediate connect to wifi. now i'm having some wifi connect issues - no idea why. didn't happen with stock (latest update, manually rooted)

I was having a problem with WIFI connection until I restored the WIFI data.....
It seems that router was trying to assign a new IP number to my tablet.
When I restored the WIFI data it connected as an old device with a saved local IP number.....

The new version works very well so far, good strong WIFI and a working GPS.....

Feed back on Testing 1.9 beta 1

Very strange how this works with different people/tablets...
After flashing the first time the start button did not work. I did a reset and replaced the bootanimation with one of my own and ... walla ... the machine i is running smoothly without any issues, including stronger WiFi signal and even a higher score on AnTuTu
Of the last few flashings I summarized a simple conclusion: A reset after the first start can produce 'miracles'.

I am still wondering why different problems arise for some people ...

Installed it a few hours ago. Tablet runs smooth. Though sometimes it feels as if the sensitivity of the touchscreen is a bit less than it used to be in 1.8. In Antutu around 18900. All buttons function, Wifi good. And GPS works! Not that I will really use it, but it saw up to 10 sats and the M9pro had a cold fix (his first ever fix) in I guess less than 2 minutes. Error margin was 12m. That's a bit high, but good enough to know where you are, just in case you need to know. So far no issues, but I am not very demanding: just a bit PvZ2, internet (standard browser runs very nice), some apps for news, and an e-reader.

Installing the Riley Rom

Life is not as easy but not as difficult either...
Read the document "First Time User Guide_pr0_rev5.pdf" in the extracted folder. The procedure is very clear and straight forward and works fault free...

Very good ROM Railey. First of all, thank you for the boot and animation screens, they look cool and distinctive.


Wifi signal is strong and stable. I notice a big improvement on getting GPS signal, before this update I got only 1 or 2 sources, now with this firmware I am able to catch 7 por 8. Maybe if we just could get a better antenna...

Navigation is smooth with stock browser so I decided to remove the chinese browser and Pipo's Launchers as well.

So far so good, I have restored all my apps and everything seems ok. Widgets and GravityBox interact beautifully on the desktop.
