    Flicker update

Bad news. The flicker also affects my Asus HDMI wide screen. And worse than that it also is showing up on my JVC 70 inch wide screen. so 3 out of 4 of my devices are flickering. I would call it worse that flicker. The video completely drops out for several seconds. In my opinion it is not usable for Television or video of any kind.

Anyone know how to get back to a stock system as shipped from Geekbuyers. 4.2.2 rooted.

    Screen Flicker

I re-flashed the Finliss using the 1080 files and it seemed to help but only on one of my monitors. I have 2 identical Emerson HD monitors But one has flicker since I change to this rom. They both had it but one got better when I used the 1080 files. I was able to make the other stop flickering by going into settings and changing to a lower resolution.

    RK3188T screen flickering

Hi, sorry if this has already been answered it's just that I am not yet entirely clear on how to solve the problem.

I have a tronsmart CX-919 RK3188T (which is supposed to be one the hottest TV sticks right now), however I understand that the CPU is defective and cannot run Finless 1.6b without screen flickering.

Once you flash the ROM it does matter if you go back to stock rom, the problem remains. I have also tried other suggestions (such as KitKat 4.4.2) without success, which makes the TV stick pretty much unusable.

My question is what can I try next? I have read a post by finless saying that his rom 1.6b will work but with stock kernel. How can I flash it that way? Also, is neomode going to work?

    Hii,

I'm getting the flashing screen issue. I tried to flash the kernel_flash_fix_test which Finless posted earlier in another thread. This has solved the issue, but created another issue: WiFi doesn't turn on. When I flash the other kernel back, the WiFi starts working but the flashing screen also.

How can I fix the flashing screen and keep WiFi working?

    Regards,
    WickedMaster

    Great

I flashed this ROM & it's working great

    Few issues though:
    - Flickering !!!!
    - Original CWM recovery did not work
    - Boot animation is ugly !!

    I solved those issues by:
    - flashed my stock kernel on top of this ROM which solved flickering problem
    - reflashed CWM with cx-919 specific one & now it's working
    - replaced boot animation with original one

Now I have a rooted device, with a nice boot animation & CWM recovery

    Many thanks Bob

Still no support for my touchscreen.

I installed this rom and it seems to work. I like the boot screen.
I came across two problems to report.

    1. if I use the defaults (720) then my video on both my HDMI monitors drops off for a few second randomly. I will try again later with 1080 settings.

    2. I was hopeful when I read you had fixed the USB touchscreen ....
Well sorry to say mine still does not work. It is an Acer FT200HQL bmjj 19.5-Inch Full HD (1600 x 900) Touchscreen Monitor. 10 points . I think the is where the problem is. If I put all 10 of my fingers on the screen the cursor appears and I can clumsily make it move but not reliably. But with just one finger....nada. zip.

I know nothing about programming the android but I think it is worth learning..Meanwhile I hope some really fixes the touch screen issues. It is really frustrating since the android OS was meant to be used with touch screen devices in the first place. Windows 7 and windows 8 both work fine with this monitor.

I Re-flashed it with the 1080 files and the screen dropout is gone. no more flicker.
My USB cable comes off of a hub. It only would flash intermittently. It was reliable when I connected directly to one of the computer UBS ports. I think the hub does not have enough power for all the accessories I have attached there plus the CX-919.

Careful when attaching the USB cables to the device.. It is possible to tug the HDMI cable out of the plug and you will end up thinking that you have bricked the device.

Can someone post the lines from the build.prop that spoofs the Samsung device so all Play Store apps are compatible?

I want to edit the stock rom build.prop as Finless' ROM has flickering issues
    Thanks.

    External usb wifi

    Hi all!

After suffering with the internal wifi I decided to try out an usb based one.
I choose the rt5370 based one, and after some google-fu I found out I need a proper rt5370sta.ko to make it work.

Luckily we have one under /system/lib/modules, but when I try to use insmod, I got:
insmod: init_module '/system/lib/modules/rt5370sta.ko' failed (Exec format error)
    Did I miss something?
