I've tried low voltage kernels on my M7pro. Resulted unstable operation and even AnTuTu was enable to pass. Lowered voltages just by 50 mV comparing to stock. After that I've raised RAM voltage to 1275 for 720 MHz RAM and 1300 for 800.
All stable now with bot 720 and 800 MHz RAM. AnTuTu score on 800MHz is just a touch below 21000 comparing to 21050 with 720 RAM and stock voltages. However, can not pass geekbench on any version of mod kernel including stock voltages ones. AnTuTu stress test is passing and showing minimum 83%. Vellamo pass all the tests as well. Just for curiousity will try stock kernel. Perhaps this test is just piece of you know what and designed for some 3 years old phones?

And one more thing. For some reason dmesg | grep freq is showing this :
    Code:
rk3188 cpufreq version 2.0, suspend freq 1008 MHz
It should be 816, shouldn't? Just wondering because 816 was a main frequency in stock kernel and was used for most tasks. Is it not related to voltages in some way? For instance basic frequency is the first one above 1000 mV? Will check how it's affecting the battery life though.

      incredibly low voltages for CPU

I'm now testing the CPU with these INCREDIBLY low voltages:

      MHz mV
      312 800
      504 825
      816 900
      1008 950
      1200 1025
      1416 1125
      1704 1250
there are the LOWEST possible values for my CPU.
at the moment everything seems working....

it passed also Antutu stability test.
At the beginning of the test the battery was 32% at the end it was 30%, considering that this test is quite long and the display is always on I'm satisfied of the results.

Now I'll test it for everyday use, then I'll try to lower even more GPU voltages.
I think that with these values it is possible to save a lot of battery!
PIPO2000: If you want, try these settings on your tablet, and tell me if also your tablet is stable...

I'll give it a try on sunday and let you know.

I needed a slight voltage increase for 1200 and 1704 Mhz frequencies to reach the stability.
These seems the lowest stable freq/volt for my M6pro

          312 800
          504 825
          816 900
          1008 950
          1200 1050
          1416 1125
          1704 1275
These voltages are lower between 100 and 150mV with respect to the stock kernel....I'm expecting a great improvement in battery duration!
The tablet remains almost cold even after a long stess testing.

In the next days I'll going to check the lowest voltages for the GPU.
Then I'll share with you the compiled kernel, if someone else is interested...
About the GPU, Anyone knows which is the frequency of the GPU used for google launcher managing?
Is there any app that is able to show the current GPU frequency (as it does CPU spy)?

PS: I needed to set back the frequency from 1440Mhz to 1416Mhz(as the stock rom). Because the tablet is able to work at 1440Mhz (I tested it forcing that frequency by CPU master) but, I don't know why, the CPU governor never uses it!

            HEEEEEEELP

            SOLVED
            Hello,
            after flashing Kernel "kernel_cpu1608h_gpu600h_ddr720_low_voltages (+25mV).img"
My tab seems to be dead. The screen stays black, the only thing that happens by pushing the power button is two click sound. Between the klicks is one second. The device isn't detected anymore by the finles rom flash tool, so I can't return to the previous Kernel (kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720, this one works for me).

SOLVED the Problem by pushing Power+Vol++ESC

heisenberg, just was about to tell you that.
Anyway, for everyone who does not know what to do if screen is black after installing modified kernel. The tablet is actually running i normal mode just screen has not enough power. Therefore, need to:
              1. Press reset button in small hole on the back using paper clip or toothpick.
              2. Start flashing software on PC.
              3. Connect tablet to PC via USB 2 port
              4. Press an hold Esc button and then power, tablet will start in bootloader mode and will be detected by program.
              5. Flash previous kernel which was working

                Giouncino,

My tablet won't finish boot properly with this kernel. Tried already 5 times now and none of the boots actually finish without complete freeze of the tablet.

Reverted back to the 1.7/600/720 low voltage and tablet booted fine.

                Regards

                  Thank you for testing!
                  My CPU is very lucky.

For me the latest and lowest voltages are perfecty working.
With this configuration the battery duration from 99% to 2% was 15 hours: with browsing,a couple of antutu tests and for my wife 3-4 hours playing ruzzle (sigh!).

                  I think it's very good!

                    Lucky man!

My CPU is much less flexible for voltage supply and the tablet doesn't boot with low voltages kernel (neither +50 mV).

                    Thanks for your support

Tests on Pipo M6 Pro 3G

                      Hi all,

first of all, thanks a lot for all this great work!!!

I have already tested the following kernels:
                      kernel_cpu1608h_gpu600h_ddr720_low_voltages (+25mV) - - - doesn't boot
                      kernel_cpu1608h_gpu600h_ddr720_low_voltages (+50mV) - - - doesn't boot
                      kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720_low_voltage - - - freezes serveral times
                      kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600h_ddr792_low_voltages (+25mV) - - - doesn't boot
                      kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600h_ddr792_low_voltages (+50mV) - - - doesn't boot

                      Post : #21
                      kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720 - - - stable (antutu 19900)

                      From Post #60
                      kernel_cpu1440-1704h_gpu600_ddr720_TARGET - - - stable (just a few tests and antutu (19800) works)

But which one is better for me, the one from #60, or from #21? With 'better' I mean, which one has longer battery life.

                        kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720 - stable (antutu 19900)

                        From Post #60
kernel_cpu1440-1704h_gpu600_ddr720_TARGET - stable (just a few tests and antutu (19800) works)

the #21 has very high voltages.
It is a lot better the #60. The only problem is that the android governor doesn't use the CPU at 1440, so from 1200Mhz, when required, the clock jumps directly to 1704Mhz.

                        Try this one:
                        kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720_TARGET_v2.zip
It should be identical to the #60 except that it uses 1416Mhz (instead of 1440Mhz).

I'm sorry for the too many kernel released...I know it is a bit confusing, but I wanted to share immediately my works. I did not thought it coud be a problem! (I'll do better next time!).

claro966: I suggest also for you to test this kernel (because I think you're still using the one with 1440Mhz, isn't it?)

In my case on M7 governor never used 1200 both on stock kernel and now with modified as well. I've removed 1608 currently from the table and governor uses 1008 then jumps to 1416 and 1704.
That's why I did remove 1200 in my first modifications. Just for curiosity left it now but seems to be useless frequency for M7 anyway.

                            kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720_TARGET_v2.zip ......... doesn't boot

I'm loosing hope to find a running undervolted kernel, the only modded one that works on mine is the kernel from #21, supposed to be OC only.

                            Thanks again a lot giouncino!

For me the same, the v2 doesn't boot.

If I understand you correctly, then this Kernel is the best for me:
                                kernel_cpu1440-1704h_gpu600_ddr720_TARGET

                                ??
