Ok I got it to root. Now Iam wondering if there is an overclock kernel or a custom rom for this tablet? My serial# starts with YFG101. Thanks for the help.

I've never used Cydia Impactor, but I know that the Cydia Impactor website has step by step instructions concerning it's use...

shaun u and bob did great job been folling u two i now have both my 7 and 8 next book rooted i was woundering if there is a rom for the 7 just in case i need to re flash it im not sure the one from the 8 would work most likly not can u help

The one for the 8 inch won't work on the 7 inch.

You didn't specify which models you have... several models have stock ROMs available here in the forums. I'm working on stock ROMs for other models.

Also, be aware that some models have been revised and the internal hardware changed. I'm working on getting newer stock ROMs posted for these models.

I'm also working on CWM and Cyanogmod for the entire product line. CWM will be released any day now. I've still got bugs to work out in Cyanogenmod.

Cyanogenmod 10 development is looking good. I've got it booting on the Next8HD8G, but not everything is working. I need to determine what changes are necessary for each model. Might be a bit more difficult for the Next7D12, considering I don't own one to test on.

I'll be looking for testers for various devices after I release it for the tablets that I own.

I uninstalled the system app chrome with titanium backup and was then able to install the newer chrome.

Nice to see NewEgg challenging them, but I doubt eFun (Nextbook) has much control over things considering they don't make the tablets. They buy them from Yifang Digital in China, and I'm not sure Yifang cares much. I'm not even sure Yifang informs the vendors when they make changes.

As an FYI:
1) The NX0007HD I bought from Newegg shipped from their NJ warehouse and has a sticker on the outside of the box of "MANUFACTURED MAY 2013"
1) The NX0007HD8D I bought from Newegg shipped from their CA warehouse and has a sticker on the outside of the box of "MANUFACTURED NOV 2013"

So, Skorp, Newegg could send you out the newest tablet just by checking the sticker on the outside of the box.
