Sorry if this is the wrong spot or been answered many times but can I just confirm that SPMC will load onto a Fire TV with latest firmware without root? Or if it needs root that there is still a reliable and straightforward way of getting it?

I'm trying to do my homework before getting an FTV and I'm concerned that the latest e-fuse tripping firmwares have changed the playing field.

Is there anyway i can unhide all the video options such as Aspect Ratio?
I love to use SPMC, but sometimes i want to change the ratio.

One or more files failed to play

Hi,

I've just moved over to SPMC from beyond XBMC and have found that I keep getting the following error message "One or more files failed to play" Check your log. I have done some searching on google and note that this message has cropped up before not only on the SPMC but on other devices. However, so far I haven't found any solution to rectify the problem. Can any one help!!

When you are watching movie you haven't access to all videos parameters... like view type, zoom level, ...

Hi, One of the option I use most is to zoom in such as I don't see the black bar on top and bottom of the screen.

You only get the last 4 options as seen in post 304. I am also after this so I can switch the deinterlace on so the TV look better using NPVR.

You have to activate feature in spmc/system/video/play (? don't know in englsih..? i see in French) -> acitvate auto frame
Your lcd must to be compatible 24/25/50/60hz.. That's it.

It ok with my rk3288 device... don't know with 3188... just try it

I'm using 14.0.0beta2 on tronsmart r28 with mo123's v1.2 rom/updated rkstagefright, and I had no options to manipulate zoom, scaling method, post-processing,crop black bars, etc. until I edited one of the config files.

What I did was edit android.xml in /data/data/com.semperpax.spmc/cache/apk/assets/system/settings/. The only thing I changed was I set all the options in <section id="system"> to <visible>true</visible>. Then I saved it, restarted SPMC and now I have all the correct options available while viewing a video (such as those listed above).

Seems like in an older version this was under guisettings, maybe? Anyway, that's not exactly what I expected to happen when I set these to true. Before I have done that and it added the ability to turn off fake display, change resolution, etc in system video settings. So, after changing this, my system video settings looks the same and I now have back the zoom functions and such which I was missing before.

Hi, I have the M8 s802 Amlogic device. 2gb/8b with mali-450 gpu (brand is OTT BOX). Currently have XBMC 13.2 beta3 pre installed (I think it's tweaked). Can I install the freat SPMC app ? will it suit my device? Thanks :-)
